Road to HACK: Fine-Tune Your Own AI Model | Hands-On Workshop
Road to HACK: Fine-Tune Your Own AI Model | Hands-On Workshop
Large language models are impressive out of the box — but they hallucinate, they're generic, and they need the cloud. What if you could take a small open-source model and turn it into a domain expert that runs on your own hardware? That's exactly what we're doing in this hands-on workshop. **[Luca Massaron](https://www.linkedin.com/in/lmassaron/)** — data scientist, bestselling AI author, 3x Kaggle Grandmaster, and Google Developer Expert — will walk you through a complete fine-tuning pipeline from scratch: evaluate a base model, generate synthetic training data, fine-tune with QLoRA, and measure the improvement. All on consumer-grade hardware. By the end of the session, you'll have a repeatable playbook for making small models punch way above their weight in any domain you care about. **What you'll work through:** Baseline evaluation of a pre-trained model → Synthetic dataset generation from real sources → Supervised fine-tuning with QLoRA (parameter-efficient, memory-friendly) → Post-training evaluation to measure the knowledge gain → **Bonus:** fine-tuning for classification tasks (sentiment analysis) **What to bring:** **Your laptop**. The workshop runs on Google Colab (free T4 GPU tier), so no fancy hardware required — just a browser and a Google account. If you have a machine with an NVIDIA GPU (16GB+ VRAM) or an Apple Silicon Mac (16GB+ unified memory), you can run everything locally too. **This event is part of Road to HACK — the official warm-up series for [GDG AI HACK 2026](https://gdgaihack.com/).** On May 8–10, 160 selected participants will compete in a 24-hour AI hackathon in Milan, with tracks spanning on-device AI, vision AI, and EdTech. Fine-tuning is one of the most directly applicable skills you can bring to the hack. Applications for GDG AI HACK 2026 are open **until April 17 →** [gdgaihack.com](https://gdgaihack.com/)
**Registrati ora – ti aspettiamo!**

GYROTONIC®
GYROTONIC®
The GYROTONIC® (with equipment) and GYROKINESIS® (without equipment) methods were developed in the 1970s by Juliu Horvath, a professional Hungarian dancer who, after multiple injuries, sought a new approach to rehabilitation. This led him to create GYROTONIC®, an extraordinary discipline that combines elements of dance, yoga, swimming, and tai chi. In the GYROTONIC® method, exercise sequences consist of rhythmic, circular movements that flow seamlessly from one to the next, allowing the joints to move freely and naturally, without compression. GYROTONIC® is a unique and original method that stimulates the nervous system, tones the muscles, and improves balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. The practice of GYROTONIC® is suitable for everyone, including those recovering from injuries who are looking for a new approach to rehabilitation. Each person can naturally adapt the exercises to their own physical condition and needs, so age or fitness level do not matter. The only goal is to regain agility and mobility, helping your body feel healthier and more balanced than ever. **Les Amis** is a women-only community of friendly souls. Cerco persone serie e disposte solamente a divertirsi, senza puntare mazzette grazie mille. Antonio

ADI Museum+ Dinner in Chinatown
ADI Museum+ Dinner in Chinatown
Ciao a tutti, ultimo Meet Up diretto da me. Hello everyone, This will be the last MeetUp I’m organising. I moved away for work a while ago and am no longer in Milan. I hope someone will take over the group for me. The MeetUp consists of a self-guided tour of the ADI Museum (cost: €15) and, for those who wish, a Chinese set-menu dinner afterwards in the Sarpi district. Please note that at 6.30 pm every Saturday there is also a guided tour organised by ADI, but as you know I can’t organise this as I never know how many people will turn up for the Meet Up. Anyone who’d like to can book it themselves online via the ADI website – the details are there. You’re also welcome to join us for dinner afterwards.

🥾🌿 Our Social Hike: From Milan to Lecco
🥾🌿 Our Social Hike: From Milan to Lecco
This hike to Lecco was organized internally through our WhatsApp group and filled up from there, so this post is shared mainly as a record of the activity and to show the kind of things we organize as a community. The participants and all practical details were already managed inside the internal chat, so this post is not meant as a new open registration. **But to share a thought:** "Sometimes the best activities come together in a simple and spontaneous way, without too many expectations. It’s also a reminder that if people are looking for connection, friendship, and shared experiences, there are many others looking for the same, often it just starts by taking initiative and showing up." - Ellie 💛 Thanks to everyone who joined and helped make this happen!

Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and science—using data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way. **About Our Speaker** Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers.
