๐Ÿ“šBook Swap And Social - Treat Your S(h)elf ๐Ÿ“š
๐Ÿ“šBook Swap And Social - Treat Your S(h)elf ๐Ÿ“š
๐Ÿ“š There are always books that live within ourselves. Some books are living rent-free in the house. We need space for new books and to let go of some old ones. In reality, space to accumulate books in Dublin is only a dream. You may be a tsundoku (book hoarder). And want to let go a few books :-) This will also provide an opportunity to refresh our literary tastes, book review from the participants, and declutter our bookshelves. โœจ So let's exchange books and discuss them together! ๐Ÿ’ฌ ๐Ÿ“‹ **Guidelines** * Please bring your used or new books (plural, please!) to swap. Engage in discussions with other participants about the books. * If you read e-books, I understand your situation; however, you are welcome to join us and take home a few books for your reading. ๐Ÿ“ **How does this work?** Bring the books you'd like to swap and place them on the **book swap table**. Then pick the book you like and continue the conversations with the particpants. **What happens if no one picks my book?** You can take the book back with you or leave it in the table. As an organizer, I will take the book and donate to the charity bookshop or place in the little library like one in Pearse Street Dart Station. Feel free to walk around and explore what other participants have brought. When you spot something that interests you, grab it before someone else does! Trust meโ€”there's always friendly competition for the best reads. **Don't forget to bring a bag to carry your new books home!** We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event! โš ๏ธ**Something Happened?** If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. It may be small but don't hesitate to reach out to me. ๐Ÿ” **How to find us?** * When I reach the venue, I'll leave a comment in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally, the booking is in my name, so you can ask the staff for the group. * If you're unable to find us, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you. As an organizer, I'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new events, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. ๐Ÿ’ก I hope to see you all soon! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Celebrate National Chip and Dip Day!
Celebrate National Chip and Dip Day!
***Okay, call me crazy but you have got to try their chip n dip!*** Club 185 is a true hidden gem in German Village! Seriously, old school, good comfort food and drink. We will try to gather in spaces near the windows. While we'll share Chip n Dip, you'll want to order a sandwich, too. **Where the Chip Began (1817)** Potato chips can be traced back to an English chef, William Kitchiner, who includes โ€˜crispsโ€™ in his bestselling cookbook, โ€œThe Cookโ€™s Oracle.โ€ **Chip and Dip Popularity** The popularity of chip and dip skyrockets at the end of World War II with new entertainment fads and the introduction of Liptonโ€™s new advertising campaign for their famous French Onion Dip. (Club 185 doesn't openly admit it, but I'm pretty sure that's their dip recipe!) **[Club 185](http://club185.com/)**โ€”a true neighborhood bar serving since 1954, when it was known as a local 'speak-easy'. Located in German Village, Club 185 features a menu of quality casual comfort food and full bar. From politicians to lawyers, hardhats to hipstersโ€”all find Club 185 the perfect place to tame their hunger and quench their thirst! **PARKING**: I know, brick street parallel parking can be a pain. Two other choices, metered parking along Livingston heading towards Children's Hospital or across the street in the large church lot (park in spaces farthest away from the church entrance doors, closer to the street). **PRE-EVENT**: **HAPPY HOUR (3-5pm)**: Italian drinks and bites at [Cento's happy hour](https://centogermanvillage.com/menus/), nearby.

The Listening Room โ€” First Gathering
The Listening Room โ€” First Gathering
**The Listening Room โ€” First Gathering** So much of life happens in loud spaces and quick conversations that never quite go beneath the surface. The Listening Room is meant to be the opposite of that โ€” a quieter space where people can slow down, talk honestly, and actually listen to one another. For this first gathering, weโ€™ll meet in a small group and explore a simple conversation prompt together. The goal isnโ€™t debate or performance โ€” just thoughtful conversation and the chance to connect with others in a genuine way. Our prompt for this gathering will be: **When have you felt truly seen or understood by another person?** Everyone will have the opportunity to share if theyโ€™d like, but thereโ€™s absolutely no pressure โ€” listening is just as valuable as speaking here. Weโ€™re keeping the group intentionally small so the conversation can feel relaxed and natural. Looking forward to meeting you. โ€” Benny
Contra dance March 21 (First Unitarian Universalist Church) note new time!
Contra dance March 21 (First Unitarian Universalist Church) note new time!
# **Band and caller TBA** Beginner lesson at 1:30, regular dancing begins at 2:00 pm NOTE THAT WE ARE TEMPORARILY DANCING IN THE AFTERNOON INSTEAD OF EVENING. Dance with us in the afternoon then you can still go out in the evening! **Sponsor: All Soles Contra and Square Dancing, First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus OH 43214** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like youโ€™ve seen in period films such as โ€œPride and Prejudiceโ€, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. Thatโ€™s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like โ€œswing your partnerโ€ and โ€œdo-si-do,โ€ like youโ€™ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alรก โ€œRiverdance.โ€ Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THATโ€™s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 1:30 - 2:00, followed by dancing 2:00 - 430. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
