Come Play: Trains and other train related games
It's the first Thursday of the month, and that means we will be replaying a game we played recently. This time it's **Trains**!
**Trains** is a deck-building game with route-building and hand management. Set in Japan, players manage a private railway company striving to become bigger and better than the competition. You will start with a small set of cards, but by building a more effective deck throughout the game, you will be able to place stations and lay rails over the map. The trick is to purchase the cards you want to use, then use them as effectively as possible. Gain enough points from your railways, and you will ultimately manage the most powerful railroads in modern Japan!
We only have one copy of Trains, which can accommodate 4 players. So if we get more than 4 RSVPs, we will play additional train-related games. If you have a copy of Trains, let us know, and we will prepare accordingly.

This is a meetup group for support and community. If you hit on me or anybody else in the group, you will be removed. People with agendas will be removed.

Quiet AI Studio - Working Without Pressure
**AI-Supported Creative Exploration**
*For Unassuming Intuitives & Practicing Creatives*
(Please note that this event has not been organized or endorsed by The Writer's Center.)
This meetup is part of AI as Creative Partner — A Practice Group, a set of open, non-sequential creative labs you can join at any point.
We use AI as a thinking partner—not to replace your ideas, but to help surface and shape them without overthinking or pressure.
You bring fragments—ideas, impulses, unfinished concepts. With AI as a supportive collaborator, we explore how those fragments can become clearer, more coherent, and ready to share if and when you want to.
No technical background is required. If you can talk or type, that's enough to work with AI here.
This session is intentionally low-commitment and flexible:
* Arrive late or leave early
* Work quietly or observe
* Ask questions, or simply watch the process unfold
There's no presentation and no expectation to finish anything. Showing up as you are is enough.
**QUIET AI STUDIO - WORKING WITHOUT PRESSURE**
This is a quiet, non-performative creative working session.
There's no sharing requirement and no group activity. You can work privately, sit with your thoughts, or observe how others collaborate with AI.
Especially welcoming if you're tired of hustle-style creativity and want a calmer way to move ideas forward.
**HOW TO FIND US**
Look for the room with the door open on the lower level. Look for the guy with the screen projector and ambient light and sound. Feel free to just walk in and settle.
**(*This is an independent meetup using rental space at The Writer's Center. The Writer's Center has not organized or endorsed this event.*)**
Handy Bikes | Beginners' No Drop Ride
Meet in the parking lot of the Handy Bikes Service Center.
At the start of each ride, we'll go over introductions to have a sense of participants' cycling experience.
Over the course of our rides, we'll address the following:
group riding dynamics;
safety (ABC check & trail hazards); gear shifting;
hill climbing;
audible and hand communication within the group, with other trail users, and automobile drivers;
what to bring on each ride; etc...
Bring your questions, water & a snack.
When it starts getting dark earlier, we'll need lights as well.
Helmets a MUST.
If you can, and especially if you've had issues with your bike, come a bit early to have it looked at ahead of the ride.
PS - all levels are welcome to join, however, be mindful that if you are an experienced rider, please be prepared to ride at the pace of the newest rider in the group.
Each week, depending on who's in attendance, and participants' riding ability/comfort level, we may do skills practice as a group in the parking lot or at the west end of Wheeler Ave. Once everyone is comfortable, we'll go for a ride on local trails and neighborhood streets and finish back at the shop.
Happy Pedaling !!

Handy Bikes | MOOTS Routt 45 Demo Experience
**The MOOTS Routt 45 Demo Experience:** *A Full Size Run (50cm–60cm)*
One bike for any occasion. Every size for our riders.
**We are stoked to announce a special collaboration with our MOOTS factory representative for an exclusive demo day at Handy Bikes Retail Showroom.** We aren't just bringing a couple of bikes; we’ll have an entire size run of the legendary Routt 45 ready for you to throw a leg over.
**The Bike: The Routt 45**
**The Routt 45 is the "do-everything" titanium gravel machine**, named after the unpredictable mix of surfaces found on Routt County Road 45 in Steamboat Springs. Whether it’s forest tracks, chunky gravel, or the trails where the maps end, this bike is built to handle it all with:
**-Modern Gravel Geometry:** *A longer top tube paired with a shorter stem for stability and precision.*
**-All-Day Comfort:** *A relaxed, upright posture that lets you stay in the saddle longer.*
**-Massive Clearance:** *Room for up to 50c-wide tires to soak up the chatter.*
**-Ti-Flexibility:** *Compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrains and featuring discreet fender eyelets.*
**Find Your Perfect Fit**
Titanium is a lifetime investment, and getting the fit right is the first step. Our rep will be on-site to help you dial in your setup across the full range:
*Available Sizes: 50cm \| 52cm \| 54cm \| 56cm \| 58cm \| 60cm*
**Don't Just Read the Reviews—*Ride the Legend***
It’s rare to see a full size run of MOOTS in one place, let alone get to take them for a ride. This is a unique opportunity to skip the 'parking lot test' and actually feel how handcrafted US-made titanium handles. Whether you're dreaming of your *'forever bike'* or just want to see what the hype is about, this is the day to do it.

Fairland Sunday Morning Intermediate Ride
Here is a non competitive but a little up-pace ride.
If you mountain bike regularly then this ride is for you.
This is a No-Drop ride.
Wheels rolling at 9am unless someone sends a message and say they're running a little late. Feel free to text or call if you need to: 240.603.6949. Also please call me if you get separated from the group.
Depending on the endurance and skill level of riders, this ride will be around 10-12 miles.
The pace I aim to keep is no more than 7-8mph with rest stops as needed. We will wait for every rider at the trail crossings.
About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). Promise, no rocks. None! Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails.
