Wine, Food and NO Music@ Rockland's Farm Winery (Poolesville)
Wine, Food and NO Music@ Rockland's Farm Winery (Poolesville)
They have a 4.7 rating and food trucks (until 7 pm), and they make special Pizza this Saturday. Wine is currently available **by the bottle, glass, 3-wine flight, and guided 5-wine tasting. A guided 5-wine tasting costs $22 per person, and it is a seated experience in their tasting room. They do not take reservations.** * **[Rotating food vendors](https://www.rocklandsfarmmd.com/events/calendar)** on-site year-round every Saturday 12-7 pm. Local snacks and charcuterie also available in their tasting room. It's not too far to drive home on the back roads so take it slow going home or get a designated driver (carpool) or take Uber/Lyft. Good news: There's plenty of seating at tables so no need to bring any. Bad news: they do not allow Bocce or other lawn games or music. Drink responsibly (whatever that means! LOL). All aboard mates!

This used to be my go-to cafe because it’s not far from home. They’ve got plenty of food options, espresso and coffee from local roasters Caffe Amouri, and dedicated parking. I’ll try to grab a comfy couch for us to enjoy the morning. (No discussions on politics, religion or potentially controversial topics. We're here to relax and have fun. Just be respectful and we'll be alright. Pay your own way, and enjoy!)

[Updated 4/16] If you are joining now, you will most likely be on Waitlist as the hike filled up quickly. Please keep an eye on it as I've asked that everyone who needs to cancel do so no later than 12:00pm on Friday. **Please park tightly!** The parking lot at the trailhead isn't large and if we park tightly, we can help to get more cars in. Please also consider double parking cars from our group as we'll leave at the same time. If there isn't anything left, you will need to park across Route 7 and walk back which takes about 5 minutes. Please allow enough time! Join for an **early morning** hike to get the weekend started! Sunrise will be at 6:30am, so that will also be our start time. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign the required PATC Waiver and stretch out. My hikes start on time, so please be punctual. WE HAVE 2 PATC HIKE LEADERS, SO WE ARE OPENING THIS UP TO 15 HIKERS. THIS IS A VERY LARGE GROUP, SO PLEASE ARRIVE BY 6:15 SO WE CAN BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 6:30. THE PARKING LOT IS VERY SMALL, SO JAM IN TIGHTLY. FEEL FREE TO BLOCK IN OTHER HIKERS FROM THIS GROUP SO WE CAN FIND SPACE FOR EVERYONE. IF YOU DON'T FIND A SPOT, DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD AS YOU WILL BE TOWED! THE OVERFLOW LOT IS ACROSS ROUTE 7. There is a bit of climbing that is nicely rewarded with a great view at the top. This hike runs the final leg of the Appalachian Trail’s Roller Coaster and contains a few ups and downs. Some sections are rocky, so wear proper shoes. The hike will bring us to a fantastic overlook of the Southwest and Shenandoah Valley. * This is a **Moderate Hike** with 5.8 miles of hiking and 1,530ft of elevation gain. * Our pace will be around 2.25-2.50mph * Hike time will be about 3 hours **At the top, feel free to bring a thermos of coffee and breakfast snacks to enjoy the view with.** **Notes**: * RSVP to attend hike. If your plans change, update your RSVP by **noon** the day before so there is time to backfill your spot. * Anyone who "No-Shows" will be logged and moved to "Not Going" for future hikes. * The PATC requires each hiker to sign a liability waiver, which will be available at the trailhead * Please check Meetup the night before. I will cancel the hike due to dangerous conditions. * Attendance is limited at the discretion of our hike leaders. PATC rules do not permit children under 18 years to participate in a hike without a parent or guardian present. * Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Club volunteers maintain over 1000 miles of trails in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia, including 240 miles of AT (and the section we will hike!). Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy nature! We meet Saturdays at 10am, by the bike racks and benches 150 feet in front of BUBBLES Hair Salon in Reston, leaving no later than 10:05. Every week we'll walk the Green Trail to Lake Anne Plaza (\~1 mile), pause there for 5-10 minutes (water, bio, and from April-Nov a Farmer's Market), then circle the lake (2 miles) before returning to our starting point. It's roughly 3.5 miles and takes about an hour and a half. Afterwards, some members will often head to a local restaurant to refuel and relax before tackling the rest of the day. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and both friends and dogs are always welcome! We recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water bottle, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll always walk, rain or shine. By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.

## Details Please join local travel enthusiasts to share travel experiences and swap tips and ideas for future travel. This is our third meeting. It's been a while and we've all been busy, so let's regroup! Expect a non-structured, casual hang with some interesting people. I aim for this to be a welcoming environment and my only real goal is for everyone to make a new friend. You don't have to be a raging extrovert to participate. All are welcome. About the Group: This group is for anyone who loves swapping stories about far-off places, planning future adventures, and trading travel tips. Whether you've been around the world or you're just starting to explore, you're welcome here! We meet at local breweries for laid-back conversations about all things travel — past trips, upcoming journeys, bucket lists, favorite hidden gems, and insider advice. It's a friendly, casual space to connect with fellow adventurers, get inspired, and maybe even find your next travel buddy. No tickets required — just curiosity, good vibes, and a love for discovery.

LIVESTREAM | Trapped Travel Plans: Turning “Stuck” Into a JGOOT Success Story
Click here to attend: [https://www.jgoot.com/livestreams](https://www.jgoot.com/livestreams) Some trips are wide open. Some are already locked in. Weddings. Funerals. Cruises. Family reunions. You get the idea. The mistake is thinking the opportunity is gone. It’s not. In this special session, JGOOT travel experts Julie and Mira break down what actually happens after a trip is already planned—and how the JGOOT skillset still applies. Because the truth is: With the right tools, skills, and mindset… any trip can be a JGOOT trip. It’s time for: **Trapped By Travel Plans: How to Turn a “Stuck” Trip Into a JGOOT Success Story.** Julie and Mira will walk through how they think about fixed trips, where the hidden opportunities still exist, and how to make smarter moves even when everything feels set. Inside this session, you’ll learn: • How to approach a fully planned trip without starting over • Where to still find value when your dates and destination are locked • How to use points, cash, and perks after your main plans are set • How to shift from “I’m stuck” to “I still have leverage” This isn’t about perfect timing. It’s not about catching the lowest price. It’s about understanding that the JGOOT skillset doesn’t turn off once you plan. It keeps working. And when you know how to use it, even a “locked-in” trip can become a win Click here to attend: [https://www.jgoot.com/livestreams](https://www.jgoot.com/livestreams)
