Come along on Sunday 8th March to visit the Heath Robinson Museum! **About the museum** The museum in north west London is dedicated to showcasing the work of the artist, illustrator, humorist and social commentator [William Heath Robinson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Heath_Robinson "William Heath Robinson") (1872–1944). The museum opened in 2016 and is located in Pinner Memorial Park. The collection includes about 1000 pieces of original art work together with an archive of letters, association copies and special editions of the books that he illustrated, proof prints, advertising booklets and ephemera. William Heath Robinson was born in London on 31 May 1872 into a family of artists and grew up in Finsbury Park. Both his grandfather, father and his two brothers worked as illustrators. He was an artist who drew whimsically elaborate machines to achieve simple objectives. Walk length 11 miles/17 km approx. Linear. A beautiful hike exploring the scenic Chiltern countryside from Wendover to Amersham across various countryside but particularly on sections of the Ridgeway and Chiltern Link. This is a relatively easy walk with some undulations. £7 cash payable on the day guided walk & meetup costs. Lunch and Finish Please bring a packed lunch and water for the walk. We will probably have lunch at the Lee on a public common but with a pub close. The walk should finish before 4.30pm and include a pack lunch stop, however the time may be slightly earlier or later than this depending on the weather and pace. Lunch will be early for this walk. Meeting and Transport Meet outside Wendover Railway station for the walk to start after the train from London arrives at 10.46am. Travel from London Meet at London Marylebone station from 9.30am to give you time to get tickets. The 9.57am train gets to Wendover for 10.46am. You can meet close to the WHSmith store (see photo below) if you want to get group saves. The organizer is not taking the train but will meet you at Wendover. As this is a linear walk get a return to Wendover but you will return from Amersham which is on the same line, the walk ends at Amersham. Train cost approx £20 return with a railcard discount or groupsave. Car: The car park at Wendover station charges for parking, however free parking maybe available on nearby streets (Please leave enough time to park). Regent's Park is one of the Royal Parks of London, the park is Grade I (highest) listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The 166-hectare (410-acre) with open parkland, gardens and wonderful lake Regents Canal provides a link from the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal, Paddington Basin in the West to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames in East London. The canal is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) long. The Regent's Canal was built during the early 19th century after an Act of Parliament was passed in 1812. Noted architect John Nash was a director of the company that produced a masterplan for the Prince Regent to redevelop a large area of central North London Primrose Hill is a Grade II listed public park located north of Regent's Park in London, England and first opened to the public in 1842. It was named after the 64 metres (210 ft) natural hill in the centre of the park.The hill summit has a clear view of central London, as well as Hampstead and Belsize Park to the north.
