Let’s play… Mothership/Ultimate Hidden Truth of the World/Tales from the Loop
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination. 🎭 **This week's facilitators:** * 🧑‍🚀 **Axel** with more sci-fi survival horror in *[Mothership](https://www.tuesdayknightgames.com/pages/mothership-rpg)*. In the Vagnerov Outback, at the fringes of known space, the freelance contractors of Spinward Solutions have been contracted to provide security and technical support for an archaeological dig on the New Moravia colony… But will they survive The Mountains of Mania? * 🏘️ **Silvia** with *The Ultimate Hidden Truth of the World* \- a story\-focused\, rules\-light mashup of *The Quiet Year* and *FATE*, with a postapocalyptic hopepunk setting inspired by *The Year Without Sunshine* by Naomi Kritizer. The grid has gone dark. The internet is down. The delivery trucks have stopped arriving. But your little community is thriving. Play through four seasons of building something together at the end of the world. * 🙊 **Filip** with a zero-stress *[Tales from the Loop](https://freeleaguepublishing.com/games/tales-from-the-loop-rpg/)* one-shot. Grab your walkie-talkies and lace up your Converse - we'll be playing "Great Bubblegum Crisis". Think *The Goonies* and *Stranger Things* as Saturday morning cartoons. Yoga and Meditation Day Retreat (29th March)
Yoga and Meditation Day Retreat (29th March)
Yoga is a form of physical exercise that will have positive effects on your body and mind. It is a highly effective tool to help calm the body and mind, as well as alleviate stress, leaving you more relaxed, energised and calm. Yoga gives energy, which enables us to lead life fully and with enjoyment, and works on lots of different levels of our being. Buddhist meditation techniques offer a way of encouraging and developing positive states of mind, such as calmness, clarity, emotional positivity and a deeper seeing of the true nature of things. The day will be an opportunity to reconnect with your meditation or yoga practice if it has slipped, or serve as a great way to try out these practices if you haven’t done them before. Sunday 29th March 2026, 10am – 5pm Book now at https://dublinbuddhistcentre.org/events/yoga-and-meditation-day-retreat-4/
Tutorial 9 – Object Detection using DETR (Meta AI) with Hugging Face & PyTorch
Tutorial 9 – Object Detection using DETR (Meta AI) with Hugging Face & PyTorch
My name is Aurelie and I'm graduating with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Limerick. I run monthly **machine learning** and **deep learning** tutorials in Dublin with a small group of people. \*\*In this tutorial, we will build an end‑to‑end object detection workflow using the **DETR** model from Meta AI, powered by **Hugging Face Transformers** and **PyTorch** based on a Hugging Face tutorial. We will use a small public dataset, walk through data preprocessing, fine‑tuning the model, evaluating performance, and finally running inference on a **new, unseen image** containing a similar object that was not part of the training set. You will receive a Jupyter notebook with clean, reusable code covering every step. No setup required beyond a laptop and a Google account to run everything in Google Colab. **The tutorials are limited to 15 participants and you can reserve your spot either here or by emailing aureliem219@gmail.com. Please make sure to book as soon as possible, as the registration count on Meetup does not guarantee availability.** **For more information about the tutorials:** * The tutorials are interactive and will be conducted using **Jupyter notebooks** on **Google Colaboratory** (a free, cloud-based platform that lets us write and run code directly in the browser). While **Google Colaboratory** is free to use, tasks that require more computational power (such as training deep learning models) may benefit from GPU access. In that case, Google offers a once-off payment for around €10 which can last several months depending on your usage. Some familiarity with **Python** or other programming languages is helpful but not required. Everyone is welcome to join and learn at their own pace. * The tutorial lasts for 1.5 hours. * During the tutorial, I share the Jupyter notebook with participants so they can keep it for future reference. We go through the notebook step by step together and I do my best to answer any questions along the way. * The notebook includes the complete code from data preparation to model training and evaluation. It can be reused or adapted for your own business needs or personal projects * We will be working with a variety of **Python** libraries including **Scikit-learn**, **PyTorch**, **TensorFlow**, **Keras**, **Seaborn**, **Pandas** and **Matplotlib** and the **Hugging Face** framework. These tools will help us explore different machine learning and deep learning techniques using publicly available datasets. * Each tutorial focuses on a different algorithm in depth. Topics covered include **linear regression**, **logistic regression**, **K-means clustering**, **decision trees**, **artificial neural networks (ANNs)**, **convolutional neural networks (CNNs)** for image classification, **object detection** and **natural language processing**. The goal is to break down each technique step by step, making it approachable and practical for real-world applications. This tutorial take place at the **Grafton Hotel, 32 Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2** (We will be sitting in the lobby in the corner or on the right handside). It will run from **3 pm** to **4.30 pm**. **Grafton Hotel, 32 Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2** * The tutorials are a high-level practical introduction to machine learning and deep learning and the emphasis on understanding how we process the data , train and evaluate a model with Python. We won't cover the mathematics behind it however some tutorials may have mathematical formulas as part of the algorithm explanation and some tutorials might have more complex data preprocessing as it depends on the datasets and the task we are doing. However the tutorials focus on the practical part! * *Payments need to be made in advance to secure your place and fees are non-refundable unless I need to cancel the event, in this case refunds will be made.*

reviving gardans, Growing community
reviving gardans, Growing community
**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.

Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of two great films! Option 1 is the dark comedy/drama based on a true story TOW! The film stars Rose Byrne as a homeless Seattle woman how battles a towing company. Option 2 is the off-the-rails, over-the-top, action-comedy-horror THEY WILL KILL YOU! The film stars Zazie Beetz as a woman who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise not knowing its mysterious past! Here are details, trailers and our plan for this event: TOW: This dark comedy/drama is based on a true story and follows a homeless Seattle woman who fights her way out of "tow-company hell" to reclaim the car that had held her life together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634. The film stars Rose Byrne, Ariana DeBose, Demi Lovato, Octavia Spencer, Dominic Sessa, Elsie Fisher and Simon Rex! The film premiered to solid reviews at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival where critics declared, “TOW is a winner!” It’s “a story of perseverance, heart, and real fight, the kind of small human story we see less frequently these days, but need now more than ever.” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdkpcsuPAhA THEY WILL KILL YOU: A woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building's history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov and Zadie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. The film is being released immediately following its premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival earlier this month. Early reviews say it’s “an adrenaline rush of action-packed fights, tons of blood and gore and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments” and a movie that’s “unafraid to march to its own campy, violent, and clever little drummer!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYqQPiXpi4w PLAN: Not exactly a “Choose Your Movie” event, more like an early show and a late one (or both if you’re feeling sparky)! \* If you’d like to see TOW, please purchase your ticket for the 5:00pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 4:40 and 4:50pm! \* If you plan to see THEY WILL KILL YOU, please purchase your ticket for the 7:45pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 7:25 and 7:35pm! \* Tickets for both films on sale now and advance purchase is advised! Tickets just $5.00 ($6.50 after online fees when purchased via the GFC website). Once you have yours, please list your movie of choice and seat number in the Comments section of this event. \* Also, as a reminder, close, convenient parking available in the nearby garage (Between 9th and 11th, just off High) and just $2 when you have your ticket validated at the theater! Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Arthouse Friday: THE DRAMA at the Drexel Theatre!
Arthouse Friday: THE DRAMA at the Drexel Theatre!
Join us as we get together for an Arthouse Movie Friday event to see the A24 dark comedy /romance / psychological-thriller, THE DRAMA! The film stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as a happily engaged couple whose relationship is challenged when one discovers unsettling truths about the other. Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: The film follows a happily engaged couple whose relationship is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails. The film comes from A24, is written/directed by Kristoffer Borgli stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters. QUICK WORD OF WARNING: The film hasn’t screened for critics yet and most of the details are being kept tightly under wraps. But, early buzz (possibly promotional) says the film is a brilliant psychological thriller/romance but also provocative, twisty and some contains occasional uncomfortable viewing! I love the cast and trailer, so look forward to seeing for ourselves! ZENDAYA-PATTINSON TRIFECTA CHALLENGE: Robert Pattinson and Zendaya will star in THREE movies together this year, including THE DRAMA, Christopher Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY this Summer and Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE: PART THREE at Christmas! TRAILER: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmKcUa4Xxk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmKcUa4Xxk) PLAN: We’ll plan for 7pm-ish showing and will meet in the lobby area about 30 minutes before showtime! Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but early arrival is advised. Possibly post-movie get-together at the nearby Rusty Bucket! Complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer. Take care and look forward to seeing you there, Dan

In person peer-led support group for survivors of complex trauma
In person peer-led support group for survivors of complex trauma
**Complex Trauma Support Group** Our group is intended for survivors of complex trauma. If you are here, it’s likely that so much of who you are and what you have experienced in this life is actually invisible to most people––to family, society, coworkers, and the people who are around you. We are a peer-led group of survivors creating opportunities for ourselves and others to share our experiences, share support, and build relationships in kind community together. Survivor experiences might include: child sexual abuse, incest, child trafficking, and other experiences of people living with traumatic dissociation and complex PTSD. **What to expect at your first meeting:** Currently, we are offering a bi-monthly in person group at 2:00pm on the first and third Sunday of the month. The only criterion for joining the group is that you are a survivor of trauma wishing to have more kindness in your own life and share kindness with others, and that you agree to practice to group’s relational agreements available for view here: https://www.kindgroups.com/agreements. Joining the group is free of charge. We ask that new people connect with us for 30 minutes on the phone or on zoom before coming to their first group, so that we can determine together that we are a good fit. Our meetings last approximately 90 minutes. Participants are never required to share. You’re also welcome to choose a pseudonym and you will never be asked for private information. You are welcome to leave at any time. The kindness that survivors can share when among others who have survived similar childhood experiences is something we rarely get to experience. Time spent with others who understand even a little bit more about us is a relief. Our hope is to help ourselves and others experience that we are not alone. We wish for our efforts to be a cause of kindness in our own lives and the lives of each other. You can read more about the groups at www.kindgroups.com.
