Bring a Song: A Music Listening Night
Bring a Song: A Music Listening Night
**Please note that we invite people through different channels, so there are more attendees than you can see here :)** In The Discussion Experiment we usually meet to talk about relevant political, philosophical and personal topics, but sometimes we just want to have fun, therefore: Let’s listen to music together! What can we discover when we don’t just listen to music while doing something else, but with full focus? What will catch our attention and how does the group setting change the experience? At this event, we’ll take some time to listen to different songs, let them have an effect on us, and share whatever we care to put out there. After each piece of music, we will spend about 5 minutes in discussion. You can spontaneously suggest songs to listen to but don’t stress about choosing the „right“ song! From the most sophisticated masterpiece of music history to Aqua’s Barbie Girl, you can suggest whatever you are curious about that night. Or, in fact, you can just listen and not contribute actively, if that’s what you prefer. Join us, it will be fun and we’ll do our very best to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Anyone and everyone is welcome! **FAQ** ***What can I expect from the event?*** Each event is a an experiment so it’s difficult to predict exactly how it will play out. This time it is all about listening to music together in silence and then share impressions. If we have more people than time for songs, we’ll draw lots to decide who gets to suggest one. We want this to be a relaxed event. It’s not about picking out particularly unique or sophisticated songs to impress others. Any song you’re curious to hear the group’s thoughts on is good enough. ***Will the audio quality be amazing?*** No 🙂 It will be fine. We will stream the music and use ordinary speakers, so if you are a super duper hifi kind of person you might be disappointed. ***Do I have to speak? Do I have to suggest a song?*** No. It’s perfectly fine to just listen. You can decide for yourself at any time how active you want to be and will not be asked to speak. However, there might be a name round in the beginning. ***Who is this event for?*** This event is for anyone who is curious about it. We aim to create spaces where people of all ages, identities, and backgrounds feel welcome. You don’t need to prepare anything, have strong opinions, or be extroverted to take part. ***What’s the duration of the event?*** Each event lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. Feel welcome to stay a bit longer to finish the snacks, chat with other participants, and deepen the conversation. ***Is the venue wheelchair accessible?*** The venue is on the ground floor and accessible with wheelchairs. However, there are unfortunately no wheelchair-accessible bathrooms! ***What is "The Discussion Experiment"*** The Discussion Experiment is an ongoing series of events through which we continuously test methods that foster more meaningful and inspiring group conversations. Among other things, we experiment with techniques that slow down discussions, improve clarity, and support participants in expressing their ideas more effectively. This event however is less about discussing and more about exploring music together. This event is co-organized by Kirstin Müller. Read more about the whole project [on our website](https://diskussions-experiment.de/en/home/ "https://diskussions-experiment.de/en/home/"). The project is run by Igor Don and Maria Scholze.

Contentful is a composable content platform that empowers teams to create, manage, and deliver digital experiences at scale. Developers use Contentful’s flexible APIs and modern tech stack to build fast, dynamic web and mobile applications, making it a popular choice for React.js projects and beyond. 🗣️ **Talks** ➡️ **Incident Response Reimagined: Accelerating Resolution with AI Agents - [Daniel Afonso](https://www.linkedin.com/in/danieljcafonso/)** *It’s 3:45 AM, and you get paged. Still half asleep, you reach for your laptop.* *Turns out something is wrong, so you acknowledge the incident and embark on a journey to figure out what is happening, mobilize the right people, and eventually fix the issue. But what if we could make it easier?* *In this talk, I’ll show how AI agents can help you fast-track triage, coordinate responses, debug problems, and run fixes.* *To wrap up, I will show how we can go even further and move from merely reacting to incidents to proactively preventing them. In the spirit of shifting left, let’s understand how we can track future incidents our code may cause, right before we commit it!* ➡️ **AI Agents Are Running Your Stack. Where Are the Guardrails? - [Daniel Kelleher](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kelleherdaniel/)** *AI agents are becoming autonomous system operators. Authentication alone isn’t enough. Agents need proper authorization.* *Guardrails are essential so agents can safely access APIs and tools.* ➡️ **Developer Workflows Shape the Future of AI Coding - [Juan Ibiapina](https://juanibiapina.dev/)** *This talk argues that lasting change will not come from hype or top-down mandates. It will come from the workflows developers choose, refine, and make real in daily work, reshaping how companies build software from there.* *** **👍 Code of Conduct** By registering for this event you agree to comply with our[ CoC](https://gitnation.org/coc) **📩 Contact** events@gitnation.org [https://x.com/AICodingSummit](https://x.com/AICodingSummit)

The quiet nature preservation area is home to mischievous beavers whose dams created a sunken birch forest. The valley is still dominated by unspoilt nature, seemingly untouched by humans. It's only a 40 minute train ride north of Berlin, making it the perfect day trip getaway from the city's hustling. Following the meandering river we traverse the mystical forest, walk on wooden planks through moors and marshes and explore natural habitats and endemic wildlife. On this hike, immerse yourself into nature’s wonder! Have you ever observed the tiny details of the outdoors? Such as the intricate veins on the back of a leaf? Or the delicate edges of flowers’ petals? Or the movement of a cheeky squirrel? On this walk, you will have the chance to truly connect with the natural world around you. No experience or preparation is needed, just your curiosity. You will be guided through every step of the way. **TRIP DETAILS** **Distance:** 13 km walking, 7 hours from start to closing, multiple break times **Hiking Difficulty:** Easy – walking on marked paths / dirt roads, mostly flat terrain, relaxed pace **Kid Friendly:** Yes **Pet Friendly:** Yes **What is Included?** * Community Leader and Guide for the entire duration. * Guided hike. * Access to Google photos album dedicated for this trip for sharing all your amazing pictures and videos from the trip. * Access to a WhatsApp group for the confirmed participants. **Note:** Please contact us immediately if you do not have WhatsApp and we can make alternate arrangements from our end to ensure you do not miss out on any communication. **FOR FUTURE TRIP UPDATES:** Please do join our WhatsApp/Telegram channel for updates about our future trips including possible early bird discounts, contests etc. 1. Sketching History on Museum Island
***Sketch Berlin’s iconic Museum Island with fellow artists while learning composition, linework & proportion in a relaxed outdoor session.*** **HOW DO I JOIN THIS EVENT?** Click on link below to get complete info and to sign up for this event by getting your ticket. [https://urbanaturetravel.com/event/museum-island-sketching-16may2026](https://urbanaturetravel.com/event/museum-island-sketching-16may2026) **SPECIAL OFFER FOR NEW USERS** * 10% New User Discount using promo code: **MEETUP10** * Valid for this trip or any other trips available on our website. **WHY GO?** * Join us, the afternoon of ***Saturday, May 16th at 13:00*** on Museum Island for an afternoon of sketching. We will meet in front of Humboldt Forum along Karl-Liebknecht Strasse to begin a day of deep seeing while improving our sketching skills. We’ll be meeting up with fellow ***Sketchers & Artists*** to practice our ***sketching skills while enjoying iconic historical architecture.*** We’ll be walking around to three separate sites on Museum Island where we will do guided warmups where we practice ***drawing composure, line weight, and proportion***. These practice warmups will come with an ***accompanying set of worksheets to help you get started on your sketching journey*** no matter if you are a beginner or a professional. You will receive feedback while you sketch by the instructor, and will have time to practice what you’ve learned before moving on to the next subject. Museum Island is a place rich in details for drawing. There is no shortage of subjects to spend your time studying, admiring, and drawing. * If this is your first time sketching or 100th time sketching, you can find subjects that are right for you. ***You don’t need to be a professional at all!*** You should just want to practice your sketching skills while meeting new people, and hopefully sketching a bit better than you did the day before. * If this is your first time to Museum Island, ***please be aware that this is a tourist destination***, and there will be tourists walking around in the area. * We will be stopping to do at least ***3 30 min sketches with the goal of improving our foundational drawing skills***. ***Composition, line weight and proportion are foundational skills that every artist needs to develop*** in order to simplify a scene while communicating the necessary details for a viewer to see and feel a scene or detail. These are sketching skills that can be applied across artistic mediums. * Bring your preferred drawing medium for 30 min ***sketches***, and meet up with fellow Berlin sketchers. There are benches in the area, but you may wish to bring a small chair or cushion to make things more comfortable. Many find that if this is their first time drawing, a simple B4 or B6 pencil, and plain white paper is best to learn on. Others who enjoy ink will benefit equally from instruction. * The drawings are purely for fun, and to get to know other artists and hobbyists in the area! * (This meet-up does *not* include entry to any of the museums on museum island) * Join us at 13:00 at the Humboldt Forum with our host - Elizabeth, we’ll get to know one another and then set out as a group to sketch around the island. We will sketch from 13:00-15:30, before going our separate ways. **FOR FUTURE TRIP UPADATES:** Please do join our WhatsApp/Telegram channel for updates about our future trips including possible early bird discounts, contests etc. 1. Freestyle vocal workout at and play session. €8-20 😌 Flow is a state of being… an experience when you allow yourself to be 100% fully engaged in the present moment in a feedback loop between clarity and satisfaction. It is an undeniable sensation where things seem to be more effortless, pleasurable, in sync, and you can easily sense a connection with something greater than yourself; this is what we will create…: • a connected and mindful meditation where it is possible to blissfully surf the cutting edge of the present moment together… • a game where it’s possible to feel excited and calm in the same moment, and everyone can win as much as they like… Scott Bolden, founder of Das Baumhaus Berlin will share some very easy, practical and effective methods developed during the last 12 years of facilitating the “Improvisational Groove Orchestra” (I.G.O.) improv vocal jam sessions. Within 20 minutes participants learn to use the common sound space to create resonance in the form of improvisational music where it is quite common to experience some real flow moments… It is very easy to participate, no musical talent or training is required so anyone is welcome to join. All of the session is done with eyes closed to avoid visual distractions and keep focus on the co-created sound space. During these sessions we will also have short breaks for feedback and refreshment. Important – Please be on time. It is very important to understand the methodology and warm up in the group before joining in! 🎤 @21:00 - Freestyle vocal workshop and practice session. €8-15 Have you ever wanted to learn how to do freestyle vocalizations? Humans discuss AI over coffee
Humans discuss AI over coffee
Our first Technoverts meetup had a great turnout, so we're doing it again, this time with an optional conversation theme: **How people are actually using AI in everyday work and life**. This is not a panel or presentation, and I do not have a fixed agenda, it's just a relaxed coffee conversation for people in tech (or tech-adjacent fields) who are curious about practical AI use cases, useful tools, workflow hacks, weird experiments, and what's generally helping people right now. *Topics might include:* * AI tools people actually use at work * Productivity and automation * Prompting successes and failures * Writing, coding, research, analytics and creative use cases * What feels overhyped vs. genuinely useful. No expertise is required. It's completely fine to come mostly curious, skeptical, or just interested in meeting thoughtful people in tech. *What to expect:* * Low pressure conversation * A mix of tech talk and normal conversation Location: (Subject to change as I do more research) High Point Pub Tyson's Whole Foods, 1635 Boro Pl. (This is the cafe space on the second floor of the Whole Foods at the Boro, Tysons. Parking is free in the garage with validation). Time: 11 am (this is when the cafe opens). Everyone covers their own coffee/snacks. I'll arrive early and grab a table and will post details about location in the event discussion. Address: 1635 Boro Pl. Whole Foods 2nd Floor Cafe
0 to 1 with AI: Real Product Talks
0 to 1 with AI: Real Product Talks
**ProductTank NoVA is back!** After a brief hiatus, we are relaunching the chapter with a format that cuts out the fluff and gets straight to the reality of building. Every product feed is flooded with AI hype right now, but what does it actually look like on the ground? Instead of a polished keynote, we are hosting **0 to 1 with AI: Real Product Talks**—a "Show & Tell" featuring 3–4 lightning talks focused on the intersection of AI and product. The framing for the talks is simple: *"Here is what I'm building, and here is what I'm stuck on."* We want to look at the messy, 0-to-1 reality of integrating AI into your workflows and products. *(Want to share what you are working on? Reach out! The bar is low-pressure, just 10–12 minutes to talk about a real AI problem you are trying to solve.)* **Agenda:** * **5:30 PM - 6:00 PM:** Doors open, networking, & name tags * **6:00 PM - 6:10 PM:** Welcome + Chapter Relaunch Intro * **6:10 PM - 7:30 PM:** Lightning Talks (Three 12-min talks + 5 mins Q&A each, with a 5-min stretch break) * **7:30 PM - 8:00 PM:** Open networking * **8:00 PM:** Soft close **Location & Logistics:** Herndon Fortnightly Library (Extended Hours Meeting Room) 768 Center St, Herndon, VA 20170 * **Parking:** We'll meet at the library, located just behind the Herndon Municipal Center. There is plenty of free public parking available around the municipal center. * **Metro & Bus:** Take the Silver Line to Herndon Metro Station, then connect via Fairfax Connector Route 921 or 950 to Historic Downtown Herndon. * **Driving (via VA-267/Dulles Toll Rd):** Take Exit 10 North (Centreville Rd, which becomes Elden St).
