Voordat een bordspel of kaartspel kan worden uitgegeven, moet er veel aan het spel getest worden om zeker te zijn dat het leuk is, duidelijk is en altijd goed werkt. Daarom komen we **elke 2 weken** met spelauteurs uit de regio samen om prototypes van spellen te testen en ze zo beter te maken en misschien ooit wel gepubliceerd te krijgen.
Om 8 uur verzamelen we bij [StartUp Nijmegen](https://startupnijmegen.nl/) voor een speltestavond. Afhankelijk van het aantal aanwezigen en prototypes dat er wordt meegenomen (neem zelf ook iets mee als je wilt) vormen we een aantal groepen. Bij kleinere spellen kun je in de loop van de avond van groep wisselen, bij grotere spellen moet je dat even overleggen.
**Ook als je zelf** **geen spellen maakt** of een spel hebt dat je wilt testen, ben je natuurlijk van harte welkom. Het is voor ontwerpers heel fijn om de mening van zo veel mogelijk andere mensen te krijgen. En heel eerlijk: het testen van nieuwe spellen is ook gewoon heel leuk!

Before a board game or card game can be published, it must undergo extensive testing to ensure that it is enjoyable, clear, and always functions properly. Therefore, **every 2 weeks**, we gather with game authors from the region to test prototypes of games, thereby improving them and, perhaps, getting them published someday.

Depending on the number of attendees and prototypes brought (feel free to bring something yourself), we form several groups. For smaller games, you can switch groups throughout the evening, but for larger games, you should discuss this.

**Workshop: Domain-Driven Transformation — Modularizing and Modernizing Legacy Software**

Starting a new project from scratch with a clean slate is one thing; tackling legacy systems with chaotic architectures is another. Many teams inherit systems described as “Monolith” or “Big Ball of Mud,” and this workshop focuses on how to bring order to such challenges.
You will learn how to evaluate your current systems and identify steps to introduce—or restore—structure. After an introduction to key principles, the workshop will explore three levels of transformation: tactical, socio-technical, and strategic. The Modularity Maturity Index (MMI) will guide teams to determine their best path forward, starting with a focus on understanding the domain. Using Collaborative Modeling, attendees will gain actionable insights to design a clear and future-ready architecture.
A mix of foundational theory and hands-on exercises will equip you with practical strategies to address common challenges, such as BBOM architecture, anemic domain models, and disorganized teams. By the end of the workshop, you will have a catalog of proven refactorings, actionable heuristics, and concrete tools to immediately evolve your own projects.

Deze interactieve dag bestaat uit twee nauw verbonden onderdelen:
**1\. Prompting like a Pro**
Je gebruikt al een basisstructuur voor prompts — nu is het tijd om door te schakelen.
In dit deel leer je:
* Geavanceerdere promptstructuren die sneller tot betere output leiden
* Hoe je minder hoeft te “stoeien” en gerichter kunt werken
* Hoe je AI effectief inzet als denkpartner bij complexere vraagstukken
* Hoe je context, rol en doel zó meegeeft dat je output direct bruikbaar wordt
Het resultaat: **meer snelheid, meer kwaliteit en meer vertrouwen in wat je terugkrijgt.**
**2\. Using AI Responsibly**
Minstens zo belangrijk — en vaak onderschat.
AI is krachtig, maar niet neutraal en niet zonder risico’s.
Hoe ga je daar professioneel mee om?
Je leert onder andere:
* Welke informatie je wel en juist niet in prompts moet verwerken
* Hoe om te gaan met privacy, vertrouwelijkheid en bedrijfsinformatie
* Hoe AI-modellen zijn getraind en wat dat betekent voor de antwoorden
* Hoe je bias, aannames en “mooie maar onjuiste” output herkent
Dit deel helpt je om **bewuster, veiliger en professioneler** met AI te werken — voor jezelf én je organisatie.

Net als bij de Essentials-workshop geloven we niet in zenden, maar in **samen ontdekken**.

𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗶𝘁 – 𝗷𝗶𝗷 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗹.
AI-tools, agentic oplossingen en LLM’s lijken het vakgebied Software Testen opnieuw te definiëren. Sommigen beweren dat AI straks al het denkwerk overneemt. Dat we alleen nog prompts hoeven te schrijven en de rest vanzelf gebeurt...
❌ Spoiler: nee dus.
Nieuwe technologie vervangt ons testers niet; het daagt ons uit om scherper te denken, slimmer te werken en onze rol opnieuw vorm te geven. AI is geen magie. Het is een krachtig hulpmiddel, mits jij de regie houdt.
We duiken in de beperkingen van AI, zoals het gebrek aan context, creativiteit en betrouwbaarheid én hoe jij als tester die gaten opvult. We gaan hands-on aan de slag met onder andere de Playwright Agents en kijken kritisch naar de waarde van deze toepassingen. Want AI kan veel, maar geen verantwoordelijkheid nemen. Geen risico’s inschatten. Geen ethische afweging maken.

Real Estate #3: Kasteel Broekhuizen — A Country Estate of Ruins & Hidden Stories

For the third edition of **Real Estate**, our series dedicated to exploring some of the most fascinating villas, estates and historic residences in the Netherlands, we head to the green heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug to discover **Kasteel Broekhuizen**.
Hidden among forests and rolling landscapes near Leersum, Broekhuizen is a country estate with **medieval roots and a turbulent history**. Over the centuries, it has known periods of prosperity, destruction and reconstruction — and today it stands as a quiet witness to how history, landscape and architecture continuously reshape each other.
During our walk, we’ll explore the **estate and its surrounding park**, uncovering stories about:
* the rise and fall of the estate
* its phases of destruction and rebuilding
* hidden corners and forgotten traces in the landscape
* and the role of the **Van Nellesteyn family** in shaping its history
This is not just a visit to a beautiful country house, but a journey through **layers of time**, where nature and history are deeply intertwined.

Improv theatre drop in lesson with Iwan Dam
Join us for a special Friday night improv drop-in with Iwan Dam, focusing on the playful overlap between improv theatre and musical theatre. This workshop is open to everyone and is a great way to explore musical improv in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.
You do not need any acting or singing experience, and you definitely do not need to be a trained singer. Musical improv is about playfulness, connection, and storytelling first. The singing comes from supporting each other and committing to the moment, not from sounding perfect.
This workshop is especially suitable if you are curious about the Musical Improv Theatre course Iwan is teaching for Improv Utrecht this January, but want to try it out first in an easy, welcoming way.

DC Service Jam 2026
**DC Service Jam is back.** This March, SD:DC is hosting the DC edition of Global Service Jam 2026 week. We are part of a worldwide movement of designers, strategists, and curious minds who come together to build real service concepts from scratch.
From **Saturday March 14 to Sunday March 15**, you'll work in a small team around a secret theme revealed at kick-off. No briefs, no client. Just hands-on design, rapid prototyping, and plenty of Post-its.
This year we're bringing AI into the mix. Throughout the weekend we'll look at how AI tools can support service design work, as a sensemaking tool, to build artifacts faster, and to push prototypes further.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
**Saturday March 14th**
* **9 - 10am:** social / breakfast (theme reveal + team formation)
* **10am - 6pm:** full day of research, ideation, and prototyping (meals provided)
