Il parco ha una superficie di 80 ettari, si estende intorno al lago artificiale dell'Idroscalo ed è situato nelle vicinanze dell'Aeroporto di Milano-Linate. L'Idroscalo è un polo di attività sportive e ricreative: ogni anno vengono organizzati numerosi spettacoli, festival e concerti.
