Wild Asia 3D at IMAX Melbourne
Wild Asia 3D at IMAX Melbourne
Join me for a relaxed morning at IMAX Melbourne to watch Wild Asia 3D, a giant-screen nature documentary exploring wildlife and landscapes across Asia. The film is listed by IMAX Melbourne as a 45-minute 3D documentary, presented in IMAX 4K Laser Digital. It features wildlife including snow leopards, red pandas, Tibetan foxes, coral sea creatures and other animals adapted to extreme environments. We’ll meet in front of the Melbourne Museum gate first so people do not have to arrive alone, then head in and get seated together before the movie starts. This will be a simple, low-pressure meetup for anyone interested in nature, wildlife, documentaries, IMAX, or just trying something a bit different on a Saturday morning. You’re very welcome to come solo. After the movie, we can optionally grab lunch somewhere nearby if people are interested. **Who this is for** This event is good for anyone who enjoys nature documentaries, wildlife, science, photography, IMAX films, or relaxed social meetups. You do not need to know anyone beforehand. Solo attendees are very welcome. **Links** Meetup start point: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/v1ym1jciv2T7LBPP9](https://maps.app.goo.gl/v1ym1jciv2T7LBPP9) Movie trailer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScWg4_mvVA0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScWg4_mvVA0) IMAX movie/ticket page: [https://web.imaxmelbourne.com.au/films/Wild-Asia-3D/HO00000593](https://web.imaxmelbourne.com.au/films/Wild-Asia-3D/HO00000593) **Timeline** 11:00am – Meet in front of the Melbourne Museum gate and say hello 11:10am – Head inside and get seated 11:30am – Wild Asia 3D starts Around 12:15pm – Movie ends Around 12:30pm – Meetup ends Afterwards – Optional lunch nearby if people are interested **Tickets/cost** Please book your own ticket for the correct Wild Asia 3D session at IMAX Melbourne. Please allow enough time to get there, meet the group, and head inside before the movie starts. Since the movie starts at 11:30am, arriving on time will make it easier for everyone to enter together. **Expect** Movie: 45-minute IMAX 3D nature documentary Vibe: relaxed, friendly, low-pressure Group style: small social meetup, solo-friendly Optional lunch: only if people are interested after the movie **Important notes** * Please arrive on time so we can head in together before the movie starts. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear.

NeuroSparks Social Meetup!!!
NeuroSparks Social Meetup!!!
Hi all, us at NeuroSparks are having another fortnightly meeting and we'd love to see you there! When: Sunday 7th June from 12:30-3:30PM. Where: we will be meeting at the Majorca Room at the City Library. Access to the room is via a lift or steps in the foyer. The City Library is located at 253 Flinders Lane, right next to Flinders Street/Town Hall Station. This social gathering will be for those looking to connect with others in the community. It'll be a very casual setting, where everyone can be themselves and can and go when they feel like it. For anyone wanting to continue socialising after the room booking ends, we encourage you to get out and hit the town together! **People are welcome to bring food/drinks to the event. Conveniently for us, there is a cafe on the library's ground floor and there are many cafes also nearby on Degraves Street! But for the sake of continuing to use the venue, please tidy up after yourself.** This event is open to all neurodivergent people and anyone who values a friendly, inclusive space. Many attendees come on their own, so if you’re feeling a bit hesitant, know you’ll be in good company and warmly welcomed. If the group/noise feels too overwhelming at any point, there is a silent study room next door to decompress in. If at any point you have concerns or feel uncomfortable about any group member, please notify one of the organisers. **For the purposes of not overwhelming attendees, we will be capping RSVPs at 50 people maximum. If you have RSVP’d and can no longer attend, please cancel your booking, to allow others to attend. If you sign up for the waitlist and Meetup prompts you to pay, please ignore this, as this event is not intended to be paid for.** Looking forward to seeing all of you there! Who knows what the weather holds for June but as I will be away for work most of the month it would be good to get a ride in this weekend, somewhere around Gembrook and surrounds but lets see. There’s few more newbies added to the group which is great to see and I look forward to meeting you all.
Canterbury - CBD loop (40km 300m ele)
Canterbury - CBD loop (40km 300m ele)
Hi, Join us for a casual ride out of Canterbury station for a clockwise loop up to near the CBD, using parts of the Anniversary Trail, Gardiners Creek Trail, Capital City Trail and Darebin Creek Trail! We will stop at KereKere café about halfway (20km) for a short break and refreshments. (Please note this is within Fitzroy Gardens which I believe is a strict no cycling zone, so we will have to push the bikes a short distance from the trail up to the cafe) There will be some sections of roads, particularly after the cafe stop to get through the edge of the CBD up to the Northern end of CBD to re-join the CCT and then again from there heading East to pick up the Darebin. They are listed cycle ways though so some will have dedicated cycle lanes, and should be quiet being a Sunday morning! Distance is getting up there with a small amount of climbing (300m) so have kept it as a beginner+ ride See the RWGPS map here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55450827 We will kick off from Canterbury Railway Station. Meet outside Alleycat Cafe to roll out @ 9.15am. I'll be on a black Giant gravel bike, Dave on a grey Merida hybrid. See pin here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TEseQpxfGgRZu5Hm6 **Some train's getting in to Canterbury:** \*Lilydale - Canterbury Dep 8.27am Arr 9.07am \*Belgrave - Canterbury Dep 8.22am Arr 9.07am \*Richmond - Canterbury Dep 8.49am Arr 9.05am \*Flinders - Canterbury Dep 8.36am Arr 9.05am At the moment the forecast looks pretty good for winter! Mostly sunny highs of 17 degrees. Should already be double figures by the start time. Hopefully see you all there for a lovely morning out! **YOUR BIKE** Suitable for any well maintained bike (95% paved) **Note: End time is a guesstimate only** **ESSENTIAL ITEMS** Spare tube, puncture kit, pump, basic tools - good to have with you. Rain & warm gear (according to conditions) Plenty of water for the distance especially if it's going to be hot! Always better to have too much than enough! Check your app for any changes the night before, and on the day of the ride, as the ride may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances. **If you realise you cannot make it to the ride please change your RSVP to 'NO' immediately even if you are still on the Waitlist.** "Liability Waiver: The organizer of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury, or accident to participants or their property at this event. By participating in this event, you're taking responsibility for your safety and well-being. By joining this event, you agree to this liability waiver." Please just ride with some courtesy, use your bell/call out when required passing people, single file on narrow sections, blind corners etc just common sense.

While some are still meeting online, this is an in person event. Please note that we have attendees of all levels of speaking, including some native speakers. All are welcome! Also, as we meet at the same time and place each week, many don’t RSVP on the app, so we will likely have more attendees than noted here. Note: if you are asked to pay and upgrade the Meetup app, this is not necessary. You can ignore this and still attend our meetings.
