Join us for our monthly yoga session with the fine folks at Yoga Legion! This event is open to VFW & Auxiliary Members and Service Members and their dependents free of charge - accompanying guests of these individuals may attend for a $10 fee. Please bring your Membership card or CAC/Depentant ID for verification. Stick around after yoga to enjoy a beverage with other Yogis and Post members. Yoga participants will receive $1 off their first beer or soft drink in the Post's Canteen following yoga. All you need to bring is yourself, a yoga mat, and water - no yoga experience is necessary! All proceeds will benefit: Post Relief Fund - used to assist veterans and members of the Armed Forces and their dependents, widows, and orphans who are in need! Urban Soul Line Dancing is a beginner to intermediate to advanced class. Come and learn intermediate/advanced dances to R&B, Jazz, Rap and Contemporary music. Capoeira (capo-way-ra) is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that is unlike any other martial art. Capoeira incorporates flowing movements with kicks, dodges, and some acrobatics. It is often mistaken for a dance for those reasons. Since it’s origins in the 17th century, it has evolved from a secret fighting practice into an art emphasizing self-expression and community celebration. It is great for the body and mind! In addition to gaining strength and flexibility in class, students learn about Brazilian culture, history, and language (Portuguese). On November 26, 2014 capoeira was granted a special protected status as "intangible cultural heritage” by UNESCO. WQC has weekly Thursday night social nights at the Westerville Java Central. Come and grab a coffee and connect with the community: low stakes, chill environment, and tasty drinks. No registration is required; come as you are.

Volunteer with Westerville Queer Collective and the Neurospicy Meetup to build care packages for local unhoused folks, which will be distributed throughout local camps and neighborhoods via Heer2Serve (501c3). Will you donate any items? If so, comment what will you bring Please make sure clothing items are clean and if you’re donating food, ready to be eaten without a stove or microwave. We expect to assemble around 50-100 packages, so if you’ll purchase items, please consider that amount (ie bulk individually packaged candies etc.). Fun and interesting book or entertainment item donation also welcome! Package assembly will take place on January 17th from 10-12 am. Location TBA but will be in Westerville, Ohio.
