I train @ My Pace - with Jason
-Outdoor Functional Training for All Fitness Levels-
Join us as we combine healthy, balanced movement with fun, gamified ideas to give you our unique FUNctional training! And in case that doesn’t really tell you what to expect, just think short intervals of exercise combined together in a playful and interactive way to help you strengthen your body in a sustainable way while allowing you to meet new people (and often even forget how hard you’re working out).
As a reminder for those nervous about their fitness level: Everything we do, we do with all fitness levels in mind; so the exercises are always adjustable to your level and you’re always strongly encouraged to take it at your own pace - I mean, we’re not called My Pace for nothing!
How to find us: We meet and train behind the calisthenics workout station on the Zirkuswiese of the Prater. Here a link to the location on Google maps: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/QdRPEaYTiavZbmVW7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/QdRPEaYTiavZbmVW7)
Cost: In the interest of inclusivity, we've decided to make our sessions donations based here, so you're invited to pay what you can afford. If that actually makes you more uncomfortable and doesn't make it easier to come, know that we've received donations from €2 to €20 and they all made us very happy, because our primary goal is to get people moving and to show them it can be fun all in all. The money is secondary.
One other thing that’s useful to know:
- In the case of bad weather, we do have a back-up location that will protect us from the rain. Should we need to move, we will change the location of this event here. Please feel free to check back here before any event where you suspect bad weather or, even better, simply get in touch with us! We’re available via WhatsApp message (+436802355041) or email (office@mypace.at)
If you'd like to know more about My Pace, feel free to visit our website at [https://www.mypace.at](https://www.mypace.at)

Agenda:

18:30 From Reactive Streams, through Virtual Threads, to Flows - Adam Warski
19:30 break
20:00 Armeria: The Microservices Framework You Haven't Tried Yet - Dominik Dorn
21:00 networking
**From Reactive Streams, through Virtual Threads, to Flows**
Since Java's inception, the programming model has shifted from synchronous to asynchronous, and for good reasons: improved performance, higher throughput, and lower latency. Reactive Streams greatly simplified the development of reactive systems by incorporating elements of functional programming.
However, with the introduction of Virtual Threads in Java 21, Java shifts back towards a purely synchronous model, while retaining high performance.
Does this render initiatives like Reactive Streams obsolete? Can we combine the benefits of Reactive Streams with the approachability of Virtual Threads, the elasticity of modern Java, and the guarantees of functional programming? And what are the tradeoffs?

Brompton Social Ride - Calle Libre
**Was verbindet Equality, Pride, und Brompton?**

BMWC- Bohemian Moravian Witches' Conference!
✨ **BMWC 30 — The Mysteries of Crossroads** ✨
**June 2–7, 2026 • Eastern Bohemia, Czech Republic**
**Well, we've been talking it up at open rituals and pub moots all year, and now here it is:**
Friends, we’re thrilled to share that **registration is now open** for **BMWC 30**, the 30th anniversary edition of the *Bohemian and Moravian Witches’ Conference*—an extraordinary gathering of pagans, witches, and seekers from across Europe and beyond.
**This is not OUR Event, but:** This beautiful event is **organized by our friends in the Czech Republic**—associated with (but not exactly the same as) the *Czech Pagan Society* (**[https://pohanskaspolecnost.cz/](https://pohanskaspolecnost.cz/)**) and rooted in decades of community, growth, and shared magic. You can explore more about the conference and its history at **[bmwc.org/en](https://bmwc.org/en/)**.
BMWC is unlike a typical festival or workshop series. It’s a **participatory, immersive experience** where rituals, workshops, lectures, nature walks, fire gatherings, storytelling, dance, and play blend into a week of deep inner journeying and joyful connection. Over the years we have attended again and again because *it really is that much fun*—the people are warm, the energy is inspiring, and friendships formed there last for years.
This year’s theme, **“The Mysteries of Crossroads”** (*Tam, kde se cesty kříží*), invites us to explore transformation, choice, and the places where paths meet—both in the world and within ourselves.
💫 **Important Notes for Newcomers**
* BMWC is a **private, invitation-only event**, but *new participants are very much welcome to apply*.
* There’s a **multi-step application process**, and you want to **start today** if you’re interested in attending.

* Once accepted, you’ll receive an invitation with details on how to register for the event itself.
* Registration for BMWC 30 is open until **midnight on January 7, 2026**, and due to high interest, spots will be selected based on contribution, community ties, and a fair lottery.
📌 **Event Details**
* 📅 **June 2–7, 2026** — Eastern Bohemia, Czech Republic
* 🧑🤝🧑 **Capacity:** \~80 participants (including children)

An adventure that’s still doable for most people — but not so easy that it gets boring. And trust me, the views are absolutely worth it. This one is going to be a hit.
📅 Date: June 7
🕒 Time: ~8:00
📍 Location: Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof
**What makes it special:**
— breathtaking viewpoints over the Danube valley
— charming Dürnstein village
— a visit to the famous castle ruins
📏 Distance: ~5–6 km
⛰ Elevation: ~330 m
⏱ Duration: ~2.5 hours (plus breaks & photos)
**About the hike:**
This route is sometimes classified as red or black. But I’ve done it several times, and it’s absolutely manageable if you’re reasonably active.
It’s definitely more challenging than a typical Stadtwanderweg, but far from an extreme hike.
⚠️ **Expect:**
– some steep and narrow sections with cables
– a few rocky parts
– beautiful exposed views
👉 You don’t need climbing experience, but you should:
– feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain
– not have a strong fear of heights
– have basic fitness level
Perfect for active people who want a bit of adventure, but not a hardcore hike.
🥾 Hiking shoes are a must
💶 **Participation fee:** 30 € (including train & bus tickets)
👥 **Group size:** strictly limited to 14 participants
I keep the group intentionally small so the experience stays comfortable, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
**Participation is confirmed only after prepayment.**
🎫 **If you have a Klimaticket:**
Just mention it in the registration form, and you’ll only pay a 12 € organizational fee.
In case of bad weather conditions the trip will be postponed.
🚸The main goal of my trips is about enjoying the moment, meeting new people, and making beautiful places accessible even if you’re not a pro.

❗️Please make sure to fill out the registration form: the link will be posted in the WA group ❗️
Social Hike: Beethoven Hills + Seegrotte
Be inspired like Beethoven, who roamed these hills in 1814. After gathering at Vienna Main Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof) we'll catch a 20-minute train to a quaint municipality just outside Vienna. A short walk will lead us straight through town and up to its thick walled neo-Gothic church. There, we start our proper hike up and around this picturesque mountain with its token 12th-century castle, which also starred in Stephen Herek's "The Three Musketeers". Expect a lush pine forest, magnificent views and impressive medieval architecture.
But that's not all. Underway we'll also take a detour to the nearby Seegrotte, Europe's largest underwater lake. A mystical place brimming with history.
Price includes train tickets and friendly host. Entrance fee for the 1-hour Seegrotte guided tour and boat ride is \~EUR 18 (not included).
To secure your spots, please ...
Step 1: RSVP here on Meetup first (optional but recommended)
Step 2: Complete your booking at https://vienna.ixpat.com/beethoven

Powell Gold Star Referral Club Meetup
We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week. We always have a 10 minute presentation from one of the members about their business in more detail. And finally we pass referrals. You're welcome to visit. Nobody is ever put on the spot. Bring plenty of cards!
Columbus Arduino Raspberry Pi Enthusiasts (CARPE) (Check Location)
Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration!
This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired.
**New to electronics or curious about tinkering?**
You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building.
While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
