Aquest grup està pensat per a tothom qui vulgui practicar idiomes i millorar les seves habilitats en un ambient social. This group is for anyone who wants to practise languages and improve their skills in a social setting. We're interested in all languages (Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Persian, Galician, Basque, Greek...), and we'd especially like to give more space to those that don't always get much of a look-in. We usually meet at a bar, so we ask everyone to order something in return for using the venue. We also ask for a **€1 contribution per session** to cover the cost of advertising on the platform, which runs between €12 and €20 depending on the plan chosen. We'll gather at Neal's spot with the goal to create for 2 hours, with some quick breaks in between. Last one of the year! This meetup is for anyone—anyone at all—who enjoys playing around with words. You’ll be given a prompt (usually one word, such as “playground” or “shiver”) and time to express yourself in writing in response to it. Anything goes: prose, poetry, lists, letters, lyrics; any form which calls to you and demands expression. After we have finished writing, you will be invited to share your piece with the group (totally optional, but the feedback can be fun). The feedback (this is the only part with rules): Responses should be in the form of what stayed with you, what you remembered from the piece, what resonated with you. This is NOT a writing or craft class; there is no good or bad here. Critiques or suggestions miss the point. This is new, tender writing, and we honor it as such. All writing is considered fictional. This is liberating for the writer, as you are free to write about literally anything and it will never be considered to be “about you.” The first person is always just a character. We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
