Friday's open meetup
Friday's open meetup
Friday's open meetup is the place for small talk, meeting new people and exchanging ideas. Join our discord server and chat in a relax and friendly setting. There is no formal structure for those meetings, and you're free to come up with whatever topic you want. Some examples: * You want to have someone to talk to while working out a concept * You need motivation to work on your project each week * You want to stream your development * You want to learn about the Luxembourgish game dev community * You have general questions about game development * You need technical help * You want to collaborate * You want to present a project * You want to talk about games * You have nothing better to do * Etc... Since it's a weekly event, we don't really expect people to rsvp (except if you need to see the server link). Just drop in whenever you like, use the text channel or go straight into voice chat. Everybody is welcome! Spoken/common language is usually English. Discord: *Please note that you will need a verified discord account in order to access the server, so it's better to handle that in advance.*

Friday Night Discord Games and Hangout!
Firstly we play all week and not only on Friday nights, so come and take a look and say hi in the Discord 😊 Random members of the group gather in discord and play games on Friday night! Depending on my schedule I may or may not be able to join! But many members are there so feel free to drop by and put something together! It says from 8-10pm but we often go on till 11 or 12. Most of the games are completely free and can be joined via browser or a link! Come and join, everyone is super friendly and willing to help newbies. We play all kinds of games such as Among us, Board games, Jackbox Party Pack, Codenames and lots more. We also play many PC games on steam in the discord during the week. Such as Rocket League, Valorant, Elder Scrolls Online, WoW, Fall Guys, Overcooked 2, Rainbow Six Siege etc.. We usually get between 10-20 people join directly via the Discord so don't worry if not many have joined from this page, many people always join on Friday night :) The event is completely free to join ;) See you there! Just come and say "hi" Aaron (or Taro in the discord)
Saturday Workgroup (Virtual)
Saturday Workgroup (Virtual)
Let's hang out and work on our games online! Bring a coffee and your latest project if you'd like to share. We're meeting on Discord for it's better video sharing capabilities. If you don't already have an account, no worries!, you'll be prompted to provide one upon joining the channel. Here's our typical agenda: 1. Idle Chatter 2. Area Events and Happenings 3. Scheduling Presentations (making sure all attendees who want to present have time) 4. Presentations We like to take screenshots of the presentations to post here on Meetup.com, so others get a sense of what we do and the cool projects that come through here. Screenshots are attributed with the name of the work (as best known) and the presenter's name or online handle, as per their preference. We're guessing that if you're wanting to show off your projects in the meetup, it isn't a stretch to have a screenshot posted here on the site as well. BUT! If you'd rather not have your work posted on Meetup.com, or you have another concern, please let a host know and we'll accommodate you as best we can.
Online Playtest
Online Playtest

Before attending, please read our brief playtesting guidance and code of conduct at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/PlaytestSchedule If you have a prototype you would like to test, please also enter details into the schedule section of the doc above. Note that we prioritise prototypes based on a reciprocal system, and you should aim to test other members' games for at least as many hours as you test your own. We coordinate our digital testing using Discord text/voice chat app. Please join the Vancouver Playtest Group on Discord using this link: https://discord.gg/7AFv4Bq Once you've joined the Discord group, join the GENERAL voice channel where we can talk to coordinate testing. We may divide into groups and establish separate voice channels for each game (these are named 'Table 1', 'Table 2' etc. Please ALSO look for the ONLINE-TESTING text channel where we may share links to digital games. We usually use Tabletop Simulator to test digital games (you need to purchase this from Steam and install). As always, please keep feedback respectful and constructive so we can help one another to improve our designs. Thanks and please do post any questions! **If you're new to the Discord app or Tabletop Simulator program, please check out the guides below. It is best to check these programs are working correctly in advance. Discord can be run as an app or in-browser, so you can try both in the event of technical difficulties, and having an alternative device to hand as backup can be helpful. What to Expect: * An introduction to version control and why it's essential for Unity projects * An overview of Git, Perforce, and Unity Version Control * Demos of each tool in a Unity workflow * Tips for getting started * No prior version control experience required * Resources for continued learning All experience levels are welcome.
