Brussels Runners - Tuesday Intervals
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive load, and a recovery week at the end of the cycle. Session: * 10 - 20’ warm up (easy run and drills) * Core session (ie. 6x5' - 2' recovery) * Cool down We run together during Warm-up, and cool down and tey to regroup during recovery time. Paces are not imposed (everyone runs at his/her own pace) given the intensity suggested. Notes: It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the session, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle. Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'15"/km so this pace should feel very comfortable ***Acknowledgement of member responsibility and release of liability.*** By signing up for this event, you agree to release the organizers from any responsibility and liability in all claims. Barrierefreiheit automatisiert testen
Barrierefreiheit automatisiert testen

Debate Night: Crime and Free Will
Debate Night: Crime and Free Will
Can crime be predicted by algorithms? And if so, should we use them to prevent crimes from happening? This question has fueled many dystopian works of fiction, such as **Minority Report**, which imagines a technology capable of predicting crimes in precise detail and raises fundamental questions about free will and individual responsibility. **Person of Interest** explores a more realistic scenario, where machine learning and mass surveillance are used to identify high-risk individuals through the monitoring of communications. Many episodes of **Black Mirror** similarly examine the consequences of predictive technologies and their impact on privacy, liberty, and social control. A common theme emerges from these stories: such technologies are often portrayed not as tools of public safety, but as threats to freedom and democracy. Yet the idea is not purely fictional. While no system today can predict crimes with the certainty depicted in science fiction, predictive algorithms are already being used in various aspects of law enforcement and criminal justice. **COMPAS**, for example, has been used in American courts to estimate the likelihood that a defendant will reoffend. **Geolitica**, formerly known as **PredPol**, uses historical crime data to forecast crime hotspots and guide police deployment. More broadly, advances in artificial intelligence, big data, and digital surveillance continue to expand our ability to identify patterns in human behavior. Some even point to the Chinese **Social Credit System** as an example of how large-scale data collection can be used to monitor and influence citizens. Now that the technological capabilities have already been laid out, should we, as a society, pursue the endeavor of developing a predictive algorithm that would allow us to prevent crime? Or is there a moral imperative that prevents us from doing so? Join us as we debate whether predictive crime technology represents the future of public safety or the first step toward a surveillance dystopia. This debate will follow a British Parliamentary format with eight debaters split into **four teams of two.** Participants who wish to speak are highly encouraged to bring a paper and pen. You are welcome to participate even if you have no prior debating experience. We aim for debates that are respectful, constructive, and welcoming: * **Respect ideas and people** Listen actively, stay quiet while others speak, and debate arguments, not identities or beliefs. * **Be concise and civil** Keep questions short and relevant; avoid hostility, hate speech, or discrimination. * **Respect boundaries and time** No unwanted advances or suggestive behavior; arrive on time to avoid disrupting the debate. * **Follow moderators** They guide the discussion and ensure fairness.
🍣 Sushi Connections – Meet Through Shared Experiences, Not Interviews.
🍣 Sushi Connections – Meet Through Shared Experiences, Not Interviews.
🍣 Sushi Connections – Meet Through Shared Experiences, Not Interviews. Welcome to the very first event of our newly integrated Singles Community! Before we launch a full series of dating experiences, we'd like to test interest in a concept that we believe is much more natural, fun, and meaningful than traditional speed dating. ## Why Sushi? Let's be honest... Traditional singles events can feel a little artificial. You sit across from someone, ask the same questions over and over again.. Instead, what if people could meet while doing something together? Making sushi is the perfect activity because it is collaborative, social, fun, and allows participants to naturally rotate and interact with different people throughout the evening. Rather than interviewing each other, you'll be: 🍣 Preparing sushi together 🍣 Working as a team 🍣 Sharing laughs and conversation naturally 🍣 Meeting multiple people throughout the evening 🍣 Enjoying the sushi you helped create Sometimes the best connections happen when you're focused on an experience rather than trying to impress someone. And if you don't meet anyone , you've learned a new skill. ## The Concept The idea is simple: ✨ Welcome drink and introductions ✨ Sushi-making experience with rotating partners ✨ Shared dinner with the group ✨ Optional confidential matching system after the event The goal is to create a relaxed environment where people can get to know each other naturally through a shared activity. ## ⚠️ Important – Interest Check Event At this stage, we are publishing this event primarily to measure interest in the concept. 📍 **The exact venue is still being selected.** 💰 **The final price is not yet confirmed.** 🗓️ **The final event date may be adjusted slightly depending on venue availability.** By joining this event, you are simply expressing your interest in participating once the concept is finalised. If there is enough enthusiasm, we will secure the venue, finalise the details, and open official registrations. ## Who Is This For? ❤️ Singles who prefer meaningful interactions over superficial conversations ❤️ People who enjoy social activities and meeting new people ❤️ Anyone curious to try a different approach to dating If you've ever thought: *"I'd rather meet someone while doing something together than sitting across a table asking questions..."* then this event might be exactly what you're looking for. Join the interest list and help us launch the very first Sunday Vacations Sushi Connections experience! 🍣✨

It would really be too bad if you can't join us, as it mostly gets better the second or third time you come.* *In addition to that, if you arrive and notice any signs of nervousness or fear, you can always let me know right then.* **THANK YOU AND SEE YOU ALL ON SATURDAY!** **LOCATION:** Schmet 2 Rue des Quatre Bras Brussels 1000 (right at Place Poelaert)

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Finding Product Insights
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Finding Product Insights
**The Behavior Gap: Where Products Win or Lose** Teams today have more data than ever, and yet many still struggle to understand why customers adopt, engage with, or abandon their products. Teams sprint, ship faster, and chase more signals… all while metrics stall and confidence drops. The missing piece isn’t more data. It’s often the behavioral insight between the metrics, explaining why the numbers move in the first place. Dashboards can tell you what customers did, but understanding why they did it (and how to influence what they do next) requires a deeper blend of insights. This session is about closing that gap. Drawing from real-world experience designing and scaling products as [ZoCo Design](https://zocodesign.com/)’s CEO, [Lacey](https://www.linkedin.com/in/laceypicazo/) will share how to cut through the noise and identify the insights that actually change behavior—moving people, and moving metrics. You’ll learn: * Why understanding customer behavior is a quant and qual challenge * How to spot the signals that actually predict behavior change * Where AI accelerates insight, and where it creates distraction * How to get meaningfully closer to customers, without adding more tools This talk reframes how to evaluate performance and identify what levers actually improve it, helping your team to make smarter bets with greater confidence. Every meaningful outcome is driven by behavior change. And when you know how to design for behavior, you stop guessing, and start building things that work. **About Our Speaker** [Lacey Picazo](https://www.linkedin.com/in/laceypicazo/) is the Founder and CEO of ZoCo, a healthcare product studio that turns complex, high-stakes ideas into products that drive real-world adoption. She partners with healthcare organizations to uncover critical care delivery insights, focus product strategy through behavior design, and build solutions that patients and providers actually use. Battle of the personal agents
Battle of the personal agents
Join the Columbus AI community for a special event. **Battle of the Personal Agents** is your chance to see what people are actually building with AI agents and personal automation systems. Whether you’re running OpenClaw, Hermes, or a completely custom solution, bring your agent and show the community how it works. We’re interested in real-world implementations: the problems your agent solves, how you use it day-to-day, how it’s hosted and managed, how you built it, and why you’ve chosen to keep using it. Live demonstrations are encouraged, so be prepared to show your code, architecture, workflows, and your agent performing real tasks. This is less about polished presentations and more about sharing practical experience, comparing approaches, and learning from one another. If you’d like to present, please contact Chris Slee (via meetup) before the event so we can allocate enough time for everyone’s demonstrations. Come ready to show what you’ve built, discover what others are doing, and maybe find a few ideas worth taking home. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
