Vision Boarding: fun new year's goal setting workshop
## Neurospicy Vision Boarding â¨
**Create a visual reminder of the life you want to build.**
This is a relaxed session where weâll spend time creating **vision boards** together.
A **vision board** is a large visual collage that represents how you want your life to look and feel. People usually use images and words from magazines, but drawing, writing, and doodling are just as welcome.
The goal isnât perfection.
Itâs to create something you can **take home and put somewhere visible**. A reminder of what youâre aiming toward, especially on days when motivation is low.
The light woo bit:
Seeing your intentions regularly helps keep them top-of-mind and easier to act on. Not magic. Just attention doing its thing.
***
### What Happens (High Level)
1. Short welcome and explanation of what a vision board is
2. Open time to create your board
3. Plenty of space to chat, body-double, or work quietly
4. You head home with your board and decide where it lives
No presentations. No step-by-step facilitation. Sharing is optional.
***
### How People Usually Make Vision Boards
Traditionally, people:
* Cut images and words out of magazines
* Stick them onto a large sheet of paper
* Arrange things until it âfeels rightâ
You can also:
* Draw
* Write phrases or keywords
* Doodle badly (genuinely fine)
* Mix all of the above
Thereâs no right way. If it makes sense to you, itâs working.
***
### đ When & Where
**đ Sandringham Library**
**đ 1.30pm â 3.30pm**
Stay for the whole session or drop in for part of it.
***
### Whatâs Provided
* A3 paper
* A small selection of magazines
* A few pens and pencils (but not many so please BYO)
***
### đ What to Bring (Optional but Encouraged)
If you want more choice or personal relevance:
* **Scissors** (we only have 2 sets)
* Magazines or printed images/quotes
(You can print cheaply at the library.)
* Your favourite pens or markers
* Snacks or drinks that help you focus
Itâs also fine to bring nothing and just use whatâs there but you might just have 1-2 pens available.
***
### 𧊠Who This Is For
* Neurodivergent folks (ADHD, Autistic, AuDHD, self-identified welcome)
* People who think better visually
* Anyone who benefits from body-doubling
* Folks who want inspiration *and* momentum
No creative skills or clear goals required.
***
### âFAQs
**How is this different from SMART goals?**
Vision boarding is about direction and motivation.
SMART goals are about structure and execution.
Many people use a vision board first, then translate parts of it into SMART goals later.
**What do I do after I finish my vision board?**
Take it home and put it somewhere youâll see it regularly. Over time, you can:
* Notice which parts still resonate
* Turn specific elements into goals or habits
* Update or remake it when things change
**Do I need to know what I want before coming?**
No. The process often helps clarify that.
**Do I have to talk or share my board?**
No. Chatting and sharing are optional.
**Will my visions come true?**
Only if you know *the secret* (which is that dreams without action stay dreams).
**Is the space accessible?**
Sandringham Library is accessible. Message ahead if you want to check anything specific.
Philosophy Roundtable: What is the Human Condition?
Please join us this Sunday as we explore the human condition.
We will meet at the **CAPTAIN MELVILLE**, 34 Franklin St in Melbourne CBD, at 2.00pm for 2.15pm start sharp.
There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background; all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared have your own assumptions challenged!
Find below some questions to consider, however these are free-ranging events and the below serve merely as a springboard towards a deeper discussion in waters unknown...
Some points and questions to consider before the event:
* What is it like to be human? What is human nature? How are these words defined?
* Does man have a human nature and what is our experience of it?
* What can we learn about human nature from religious, spiritual or philosophical schools of thought?
* What are emotions, and what is intuition?
* People feel 'meaning' across the world in their own ways; what are the implications of this, and is it real?
* What does the history of mankind tell us about ourselves and human nature?
* Is there a distinct essence or nature that defines human beings apart from other animals?
* What is the human condition in and of itself irrespective of time, and what is the human condition today?
* How has the human condition evolved over time, and what can this tell us about our future?
* How does existentialist philosophy interpret the human condition?
* What human nature lurks in the sub-conscious or unconcious, and what does that tell us about ourselves?
* How do concepts of good and evil contribute to our understanding of the human condition?
* Is suffering an inherent part of the human experience, and if so, how does it shape our understanding of life?
* How does the awareness of our mortality affect the human condition and our actions?
Hope to see you there!
January 2026 - This Is Happiness
Hello book lovers,
Our book for January is "This Is Happiness" by Niall Williams
Change is coming to Faha, a small Irish parish that hasn't changed in a thousand years.
For one thing, the rain is stopping. Nobody remembers when it started; rain on the western seaboard is a condition of living. But now â just as Father Coffey proclaims the coming of the electricity â the rain clouds are lifting. Seventeen-year-old Noel Crowe is idling in the unexpected sunshine when Christy makes his first entrance into Faha, bringing secrets he needs to atone for. Though he can't explain it, Noel knows right then: something has changed.
As the people of Faha anticipate the endlessly procrastinated advent of the electricity, and Noel navigates his own coming-of-age and his fallings in and out of love, Christy's past gradually comes to light, casting a new glow on a small world.
Harking back to a simpler time, *This Is Happiness* is a tender portrait of a community â its idiosyncrasies and traditions, its paradoxes and kindnesses, its failures and triumphs â and a coming-of-age tale like no other. Luminous and lyrical, yet anchored by roots running deep into the earthy and everyday, it is about the power of stories: their invisible currents that run through all we do, writing and rewriting us, and the transforming light that they throw onto our world.

Delectable Social Stroll: Full Yarra Bend Circuit 11km - Dights Falls - Easy
**đ Delectable Summer Social Stroll: Full Yarra Bend Circuit**
**Saturday 17 January - 11 AM..Arrive at 10.45 AM please**
Join us for a long, lazy, laughterâfilled summer social stroll tracing the full Yarra Bend circuit â a gorgeous loop of river bends, bushland, boardwalks, and iconic Melbourne nooks. This is our expanded version of the smaller Yarra Bend walk many of you enjoyed, now stretched into a full, flirty, scenic adventure.
_**+++Ensure you read the rules at the end before joining. Registering = agreeing to them+++**_
Weâll begin at the Abbotsford Convent, (or more specifically st the Collingwood children's farm entrance), wander past Dights Falls, pause for snacks at the Studley Park Boathouse, and follow the riverâs contours through some of the most beautiful natural pockets in inner Melbourne. Expect birdsong, breezes, shady gums, and plenty of social mingling along the way.
This walk is exploratory for me as I've not done the full circuit before.
You can choose your own finale:
- 11 km Full Yarra Bend Circuit ending back at the Convent, or
- 14 km Extended Merri Creek Trail Option finishing at Rushall Station for those who want a little extra summer sparkle in their step.
đ **Timing**
- Option A: Arrive from 10:00 a.m. if youâd like breakfast or a preâwalk coffee at the convent bakery (it gets very busy so allow time for queues).
The Convent Bakery is rumoured to have iceâcold smoothies worth writing home about, and weâll swing by at the end for anyone who wants a refreshing treat.
- Meet at 10:45 a.m. at the gates of the Collingwood Childrenâs Farm (about 50m from the Convent entrance at the end of the road).
**- Walk begins at 11:00 a.m. sharp. Prior to the heat of the day**. Arrive by 10.45 a.m.
- Expect 3â4 hours depending on pace, weather, silly jokes, banter, and snack enthusiasm. My priority is having a relaxing time so I'm not following a strict timetable.
**â MidâWalk Pause**
Weâll stop at Studley Park Boathouse for coffee, cold drinks, or a light bite. Bring a little cash or card if youâd like to indulge.
**đś Route Highlights**
- The leafy bends of the Yarra
- Dights Falls lookout
- Riverbank boardwalks and shaded bushland
Abbotsford Convent
- Studley Park Boathouse
- Optional Merri Creek extension to Rushall Station
- Plenty of photo spots, conversation pockets, and natureâsoaked moments
**đ Getting There**
- Train to Victoria Park Station is the easiest option, followed by a short walk to the Convent.
- Parking at the Convent can be a gamble on weekends â arrive early if youâre trying your luck or choose elsewhere.
**đż What to Bring**
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water 2 litres
- Sunscreen and a hat
- A light snack if you like
- Curiosity, good humour, and your best summer social energy
**â ď¸ Group Rules and Event Etiquette â ď¸**
These are basic, commonsense standards that keep events safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.
**Fitness Requirements**:
This should be an easy to moderate walk for people with average fitness.
Ensure you can walk around 4km/hr for about 4 hours with breaks. Walk 15km comfortably with a small pack.
We walk at a relaxed pace. Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event.
**âšď¸ Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow**
Small social group events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider attending solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness..
**đŠâđź Time Constraints**
If youâre on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time
**â ď¸ CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS â ď¸**
**đť NoâShows**
Noâshows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events.
- Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event.
- Noâshows will likely be removed and blocked from the group.
- Lastâminute cancellations (âflakingâ) may also result in removal, especially when there is a waitlist.
**đ Attending Without Being on the Going List**
This is a security issue.
**Do NOT turn up unannounced**.
If youâre not on the Going list and havenât arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event checkâins are being introduced
**â° Late Arrivals**
If youâre late, the group will not wait.
- You may be marked as a NoâShow and removed from the group.
- Itâs your responsibility to communicate and catch upâthis may not be possible for some events.
**đ˛ Second Chances**
If something goes wrong, attempt to communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances.
This may not be possible during the event as the organiser is busy organising.

Free in Person Meeting - Get Over Losses and Betrayls
Do you want more motivation and confidence to build Lasting Relationships?
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships.
Are you burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to âpin the blameâ on someone or something. If you donât find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival, while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, donât know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe youâve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship.
Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action?
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships!
Break free from self imposed limitations
Here we will discuss:
⢠How to âeraseâ the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isnât always repeating past mistakes.
⢠Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you?
⢠Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it?
⢠Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love?
⢠Fights & arguments - what's really behind them?
⢠What underlies âcorrosive criticismâ or the need to invalidate self or others?
⢠How one can stably change oneâs outlook on life so they can affect positive change?
⢠Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them?
⢠How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about?
⢠How to enhance oneâs own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or oneâs career?
Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general.
Learn where painful experiences are âstoredâ and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can âeraseâ those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become âtoxicâ personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you wonât be tripped up trusting the wrong person.
Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
