Get ready to heal, connect with & express yourself through movement & dance in this uniquely designed 3-week Dance Movement Therapy Program! Join me for a 3-week in-person Dance Movement Therapy program designed to help you reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system, and explore your emotional landscape through movement. This is not a dance class. No choreography. No performance. No pressure. This journey is guided by my signature **R.I.M Integrated Dance Wellness™ Method** \- a holistic approach that integrates dance movement therapy principles with physiotherapy\-informed body awareness\, grounding practices\, and structured emotional exploration\. Across three carefully structured 1.5-hour sessions, we will journey through: **Session 1 – Body Awareness, Grounding & Stress Relief** Reconnecting with your physical body through guided grounding practices, nervous system regulation techniques, and specially designed stress-relief sequence **Session 2 – Mind–Body Connection & Inner Child Exploration** Deepening awareness of emotional patterns through movement, reconnecting with your inner child, and allowing playful, expressive exploration & specially designed stress relief sequence **Session 3 – The Elements & R.I.M Method Body Mapping** Exploring movement through elemental qualities and integrating your experience using the R.I.M Integrated Dance Wellness™ Body Mapping framework method. **For ages 17 and above.** There are two types of waltzes that are performed in most ballrooms - the Slow Waltz and the Viennese Waltz. The classical Viennese Waltz is a quick ballroom dance that involves the dancers swirling around the whole dance floor, seemingly without touching the ground. The slightly easier Slow Waltz is a favourite dance among beginners and social dancers. **For ages 14 and above.** Samba is a fun, upbeat, lively dance that progresses counter-clockwise around the floor. **For ages 18 and above.** These classes are for high beginners, with or without castanets. Feel elegant, graceful, gain body awareness and flow to lyrical music. You’ll be gaining body awareness and refining your body lines, while enjoying your expression to music. Students can choose to learn with or without castanets (castanets are provided for newcomers). Dance is an art and a discipline. **For ages 14 and above.** Cha Cha is a fun and lively dance that gets your heart pumping on the dance floor. It's similar to Mambo and Rumba, although it replaces the “slow step” of both dances with a triple step. **For ages 17 and above.** Influenced by the Spanish and African culture, the Tango is sensual and passionate, one of the most fascinating dances. Stylized strides dominate this dance, along with periodical sharp and staccato movements. Tango’s passionate nature evokes a strong connection to the music, your partner and the audience, a dance that is exciting and often easy to learn. **For ages 17 and above.** Rumba, often nicknamed the “dance of love”, is derived from the Afro-Caribbean ballroom dance “Son” popular in the 1930s. Its slower, smooth and continuous hip actions, known as the ‘Cuban movement’, give it a romantic and sensual feel. **For ages 18 and above.** Salsa is a popular upbeat social dance to Cuban music. It is flamboyant and smooth with plenty of hip movements. **For ages 14 and above.** The Bachata is a dance from the Caribbean and Dominican Republic, and it began as a very basic dance. **For ages 14 and above.** Salsa dance originated in the 1970s in New York City, with the strong Latin American influences of Cuba and Puerto Rico. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
