Tigerland Trumpsters
6pm start. $2 gold coin entry per person.
Please order dinner at the bar when you arrive and let the staff know you are with the card group in the Dining Room. Meals are served around 7:15pm. Happy Hour drinks are available until 7pm.
After a dinner break we shuffle the teams around so you get to meet, and play with new people.
Games are played as 4 handed wherever possible, but an occasional 3,5 or 6 handed game is required based on the number of attendees.
If you are a beginner or have minimal experience playing 500, please let your host know before starting a game, and feel free to ask them any question. Ahead of the event you might like to download one of the 500 card game apps on your phone to get familiar with the game. There are also some Youtube videos.
Sketchy Behaviour with Roxy Rawhide (Creative Art Workshop)
Adults have basically been robbed of the right to play. Creativity started needing a purpose, a product, or at least a gallery invite. Meanwhile, it’s human to dance, it’s human to sing, and it’s human to draw, especially poorly!
Sketchy Behaviour is here to break that spell.
([Link to tickets here](https://www.trybooking.com/DIGHO))
Doors open at 6pm, settle in and get your drinks at the bar (mocktails available).
At 7pm, the night begins:
• Guided drawing activities with your host, prompts and visual inspiration provided
• Three activities/games per night a mix of collaborative chaos and solo scribbling
• Breaks between rounds to regroup, hit the bathroom, top up a drink, grab some nibbles, and mingle with fellow doodlers
It’s all about connecting through process rather than polishing a product.
Expect laughter, strange drawings, and surprising conversations. In a world drowning in increasingly polished AI art, making something imperfect is a revolutionary act.
Supplies provided.
Masks welcome.
Sharing your weird creations, highly recommended.
Come draw like a kid, laugh like a fool, and leave with memories instead of masterpieces.
Note: Pride of our Footscray is located on the first floor of a building with no elevator and is therefore not wheelchair accessible. We apologise for our reduced accessibility.

**TALKS**
**Rupesh, Quality Engineer Practice Lead at Fabric Group:**
Validating AI Systems in a Probabilistic World
Traditional software testing assumes deterministic behavior—the same input produces the same output every time. Modern AI systems, particularly LLMs and agentic workflows, behave differently. Responses can vary based on context, prompts, model state, and external dependencies, making conventional testing approaches insufficient.
This presentation explores how organisations can establish confidence, quality, and governance for non-deterministic systems through new testing methodologies, evaluation frameworks, and observability practices. It will cover emerging tooling such as DeepEval and Botium, along with strategies for measuring accuracy, relevance, safety, hallucination risk, and user experience in AI-driven applications.
**Leah Garrett**
My Screen Moves Now: Notes From a Web Dev Building Robot UI
I went from building web apps to building the face of a robot. In this talk I'll cover what changes when your UI has a body, from testing things you can't see in a browser to designing for a screen that won't stay still, and how AI tooling helped me get up to speed.
**Gordon Chen**
Building a Modern eCommerce Marketplace with AI
As AI capabilities advance, what role is left for developers, and what skills should we prioritise? Drawing on over 20 years of experience in software engineering and data engineering, Gordon shares his thoughts from building a modern eCommerce marketplace with AI, tackling the shift toward spec-driven development and where human elements remain critical.
**@tensorfish**
"Ok claude, real-time transit map of melbourne. Make no mistakes."
This talk walks through building MykiMap: a live, GPU-accelerated map of every tram, train, and bus moving across Melbourne’s transit network.
Along the way, we’ll get into the agentic coding workflow: what it’s genuinely productive for, and what’s just hype.

Monthly Social in the Northern Suburbs - Moon Dog - Preston
Our monthly Northern social is held at Moon Dog World in Preston. Moon Dog World is a brewery, restaurant and bar with a lagoon, waterfall, hidden tiki bar and much more!
Atmosphere is on the family restaurant side (dogs and kids a plenty!) but still a fun tropical style environment. Food is better than standard pub fare with exotic flavours and generous serves.
Fun for pretty much everyone, so come along and enjoy it with us.
Do you live in the Northern or perhaps even the Western suburbs and are interested in catching-up with like minded people? Come along for dinner and meet some friendly people.
Our group is informal and open to all. We pay for own food and drinks individually and there is no charge for the organisation of the events. It is a great opportunity to meet others with an emphasis on fun and supporting each other.
So whether you choose to come at the start for dinner or later on for drinks, we hope to see you. If something comes up and you can no longer make it, then you can easy change your RSVP to not going.
I am looking forward to catching up with those who can make it,
Chris

Beer360nerds
**beernerds is a cross-platform group, typical turn-out will be about 12-16 people assuming 4-6 attendees through meetup**
Location: Beer 360, Bridge Road, Richmond.
🗓️ Saturday 13 June 2026
⏰ 3PM – 9PM
Sadly the craft beer scene in Melbourne has taken another hit, this one is very much close to home for a few of us including myself.
Beer 360 is a 4 tap bar in Richmond with an amazing selection of canned beers. It is run by Chris Daley and has been around since before COVID. A wonderful little community has grown from this bar and I have frequently cycled from Kensington to Richmond just to enjoy Chris' hospitality.
These guys stayed open through lockdowns and acted as a center point for locals to "bump into" each other, score some cans, have a good chat with the charming gaffer, and even access a constantly shifting retinue of tap beers to fill growlers and other large bottles so you could enjoy the taste of craft tap beer at home/in the park/down an alley to hide from the enforcement officers.
I know I'm not alone in feeling absolutely gutted to see them go. Lets show them our gratitude.

Columbus Book Club: The Secret History
**📔 Books and Banter: The Secret History by Donna Tartt • All Readers Welcome**
Come and join us to open up a conversation about this month's pick, The Secret History by Donna Tartt with people who just enjoy a good back-and-forth, and no two nights ever play out the same.
Reading ahead is great but not required, and bring whatever section you're itching to discuss, and bring your scribbled notes — because what you clocked is exactly what someone else sailed past.
Everything's fair game for debate — with the discussion built entirely from what people bring, and the energy tends to build as the evening goes on.
Every night is a fine first night — and the group is an easy one to slot into, all you need is yourself and an opinion, and the night usually ends with people wanting to keep going.
---
**What the session looks like:**
- Arrive, grab a seat, and say hi if you're new — no icebreakers, just talk
- Talk opens on a first question and flows on from there, no set agenda
- Near the end there's a chance to pitch the next read
**What helps:**
- Your copy of the book, paper or screen
- Bookmarks or sticky notes on your favourite bits
- Curiosity and patience for other readings
- Something warm to drink if the mood takes you
⭐ *"Honestly the best hour of my month — the takes were nothing like mine, and that was the whole point"* – regular
💡 **Before you come:** mark the passage you reckon the table will pounce on, since a single flagged scene beats a vague impression, and the group makes it easy from that first line on.
---
🗯️ Come for the book, stay for the discussion — join us and bring your read and the discussion takes it from there. The talk starts when you arrive. 🗯️
