Serve Yourself/Personal Development
**Most of us spend all week pouring into everyone else. Work, family, the people who need us. Then we wonder why we feel empty. This is two hours to flip that. You pour into yourself first, so you can show up and serve everyone else from a full cup instead of a drained one.**
**SERVE YOURSELF is a two hour personal development seminar, and it’s the first gathering of the Antidote community here in Fairfax. You don’t need any background and you don’t need to be in shape. You just need to be willing to show up for yourself for once.**
**Here’s what we’ll get into:**
**Physical health and movement, the foundation everything else is built on.**
**Communication and culture, how you connect with the people around you.**
**Leadership development, becoming someone worth following.**
**Philosophy and your time, the deeper questions about how you’re actually spending your one life.**
**You’ll leave with real practices you can use, honest conversation, and people who know your name.**
**Saturday, June 6, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. The Cherry Blossom Room at Venture X in Fairfax. Tickets are $50.**
**Reserve your seat by texting “I’M IN” to**
**(808) 451-6931.**
Shadowdark Campaign: Gunderholfen and Other Adventures
A biweekly open-table **West Marches Shadowdark campaign** based mainly on a collection of OSR adventures written by G. Hawkins.
**What You'll Need:**
1. *(Recommended):* A laptop, tablet or phone (I will bring a power strip for charging). We will be using a virtual table-top (Owlbear Rodeo), which does not require installation or an account. Alternatively, players can forego the VTT and play using a "Theatre-of-the-Mind" approach.
2. *(Optional)* The *Shadowdark RPG Core Rulebook* or a downloaded copy of the free *[Player Quickstart Guide](http://%5B%5Bhttps//%5Bwww.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D%5D(www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D)(%5Bhttps://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D(https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D))(%5B%5Bhttps://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D(https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D)(%5Bhttps://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D(https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf))))*[.](http://%5B%5Bhttps//%5Bwww.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D%5D(www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D)(%5Bhttps://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D(https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D))(%5B%5Bhttps://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D%5D(https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D)(%5Bhttps://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf%5D(https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/collections/shadowdark-core-rules/products/shadowdark-rpg-quickstart-set-pdf))))
3. **Character design:** Players will roll character stats in person, either with physical dice or using the character-creation-rolls channel in my Discord server. Characters start at level 1. Players can create a stable of up to three characters to choose for use in sessions. If a character dies, a new character can be created (at level 1) as above. I recommend that created characters be entered into the online Shadowdark character creation resource *[[Shadowdarklings.net](http://shadowdarklings.net/)]([https://shadowdarklings.net/create](https://shadowdarklings.net/create))* for long-term storage and updating between sessions.
4. You can bring physical dice or use the VTT built-in dice roller.

Take a break from your screens and join us for an afternoon of conversation, creativity, and connection at Upside on Moore food hall in Arlington, Virginia.
We'll have adult coloring sheets, cards, and simple games available. Feel free to bring a craft project — sketching, knitting, crocheting, or anything portable — or a light, easy-to-learn board game to share.
You're also welcome to simply grab a drink or dinner and enjoy the conversation without engaging in any activities. Food, coffee, cocktails, and more are available from the many vendors at Upside on Moore food hall.
Our only request: **keep phones tucked away whenever possible.** This is a chance to be present, meet new people, and enjoy some genuine offline connection.
We'll post our exact location around 5pm the day of the event, but we typically gather in the quieter seating area toward the back, past Ghostburger.

Call of Cthulhu
*The Old Ones ruled the earth aeons before the rise of humanity. Traces of their cyclopean cities can still be found on remote islands, buried amid the shifting desert sands, and in the frozen wastes of the polar extremes. Originally they came to this world from the stars. They sleep now, some deep within the earth or beneath the sea. When the stars are right they shall again walk the earth.*
The Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying game is a horror-themed RPG set in the late 1920s using elements from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Interested in learning how to play or are already familiar with the system and want to dive into a new adventure? Join us for a bi-weekly one-shot!
Players of any experience level are welcome to join! I will go over how to play this system at the start of the adventure.
What to bring:
\- Standard RPG dice set will work for Call of Cthulhu
\- Pen and paper for note\-taking

Meaningful Conversation and Coffee: Northside Social Arlington
Higher Grounds – Arlington is part of a growing network of gatherings where we create space for thoughtful, authentic dialogue about what matters most. Whether we’re exploring the nature of happiness, the challenges and possibilities of midlife, spirituality, culture, capitalism, parenting, or the role of art and travel in a meaningful life, every conversation is shaped by the people in the room.
There’s no set leader or rigid agenda—just a shared commitment to listen as much as we speak. We start with brief introductions focused on what makes you you (not your LinkedIn bio), then dive straight into whatever is on people’s minds. The direction of each meetup emerges organically, making every event unique.
MANDATORY: PLEASE REVIEW OUR COMMUNITY GUIDELINES IN THE GROUP DESCRIPTION. Everyone is expected to engage in respectful conversations and listen deeply as well as share. We have a zero tolerance policy of sexual harassment and hate speech.
Come ready to share, reflect, and connect with others in Arlington who are also seeking deeper conversations.

This is your excuse to get out, look your best, grab a drink, and meet local singles in a fun, relaxed environment designed to make connecting easy.

## ✨ About The Age Range
The age range listed in the event title is intended as a general guideline to help create a compatible and well-balanced group of attendees.
It's not a strict requirement.
If you feel you'd connect well with this crowd, you're welcome to join us. Our goal is always to create an enjoyable environment where meaningful connections can happen naturally.
## 🌟 How The Evening Works
### 🍸 Start With A Social Mixer
Kick off the evening with a relaxed mingle. Grab a drink, settle in, and meet fellow singles before the structured activities begin.
Many attendees arrive solo, making it easy to jump into conversations and start meeting people right away.
### 💬 Easy, Guided Conversations
We've taken the awkwardness out of meeting new people.
Fun icebreakers and conversation prompts help keep things flowing naturally, while our friendly host guides the event so you can focus on enjoying yourself and meeting great people.
### ⚡ Quick, Real Connections
Meet a variety of local singles through a series of short, engaging conversations.
You'll have just enough time to get a feel for someone's personality, energy, and vibe before moving to the next conversation.
It's fun, low-pressure, and far more natural than sitting through a full first date.
### ❤️ Discover Real Chemistry
The best part?
You never know where a single conversation might lead.
A friendship.
A future date.
A new connection.
Or maybe even something extraordinary.
But none of it happens unless you show up.
