Salsa Thursdays @ The German Club Tivoli. We create a great atmosphere to meet new people and have some fun. 4 levels of Salsa classes from 7pm or come along for the dance social from 9pm. Club Tivoli is an amazing venue with an established restaurant and bar and loads of onsite parking, this is a one-stop-shop for dancing, dinner and drinks. Make Thursdays the highlight of your week. LEVELS: SALSA Beginner 1 7:00PM (Suggested duration 6 weeks) This class breaks down the rhythm and timing, basic footwork variations and leading/following fundamentals, with basic turn patterns at a slow pace. This class can also be used as a revision or warm-up for the beginner class. No experience required. *** SALSA BEGINNER PLUS 8:00PM (Suggested duration 3 months) This level is not for first time Salsa students, to enter this level you must have previously completed at least 4-6 lessons in Salsa. With an emphasis on timing and more leading and following techniques, this is a faster-paced class with weekly easy to learn moves. Requirement: First Timer level or understanding of Basic footwork, timing & turn patterns. *** SALSA INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 7:00PM (Suggested duration 12 months) This level expands on lengthy routines with double turns and spinning for males and females. Requirement: For those who have danced for at least 3 months in Beginner level 1, dance in time and can pick up complicated new moves with ease. *** ADVANCED LEVEL 8:00PM (Suggested duration on-going) A very challenging class, fast-paced with intricate turn patterns, routines, Salsa styling and Shines. Requirement: For those who have danced for at least 6-12 months in Intermediate level. For dancers who have a greater understanding of modern salsa. *** SOCIAL DANCING Featuring Various DJ's playing Salsa & a little Bachata from 9pm till late Dance Social is FREE The bar is open so drink, dance and be merry. *** DETAILS • Our classes are structured so that you can start at any time throughout the year and you can come & go as you please. • No partner or bookings required. • The dress code is smart/casual. • Ideal footwear for ladies- a medium to high heel. • Ideal footwear for men – leather or hard rubber sole shoe. • Classes are subject to change without notice. Established in 1853, **The Duke of Wellington** is Melbourne’s oldest licensed pub. Our late afternoon get-together, (4-6pm) for a drink and conversation *en français* at Southgate food court by the Yarra river. It is easy to find. We will get together in the sheltered seating area (as per photo above) outside the food court *en plein air.* Southgate food court is just across the river from Flinders Street Station. We can buy a glass of wine or hot drink inside the food court. A glass of wine costs $11 at Grill'd or Rhumbas. Any change of arrangement, will be posted on the meetup website.

An elegant evening of blind chocolate tasting, accompanied by five diverse quality French wines. We will have an assortment of French cheeses and meats to accompany the wine. Co-hosted by Paris 75 and Dublin Toy Emporium, in Historic Downtown Dublin. Arrive at 6:30pm at Paris 75 for a glass of French sparkling wine to start your evening and other wines and food will be next door at Dublin Toy Emporium. Dress is business casual or cocktail dress. Your reservation will not be firm until you Venmo or Zelle the Organizer. **Faire la Fête NV Brut Sparkling** (Crémant de Limoux) 90 Pts WE - Aromas of wet stone meet tart green pears on the nose of this sparkling wine. Beautifully structured, the palate is chalky and displays tart green apple, wildflowers and lemon pith flavors with a crisp finish. **2000 Château Piron Montagne-Saint-Émilion - Merlot - Cab. Sauv.** CT – 94 Pts - Medium ruby color intensity, with a slight browning on around the rim. Pronounced aromas and flavors of plum, cedar, mushrooms and earth. Tannins are slight at this point. Alcohol is moderate. Finish is moderately long. **2022 Les Sources de Montmiral – Gigondas** 91 Pts Jancis Robinson – Syrah 20% – Grenache 70% – Mourvèdre 10%. Soil: Very stony alluvial terraces and steep hillsides. Aroma: Bouquet of violets and red fruits in its youth, then evolving towards nuances of undergrowth, cloves and tobacco. Tannins: Velvety and soft. Taste: Fleshy palate. It gives a spicy and harmonious finish from the exceptional Terrior of the Dentelles de Montmiral Massif.

Enjoy a bit of Columbus culinary history at Carfagna's market, wine bar and ristorante. We will gather for a glass of wine or two in the wine bar at 6:30 with dinner at 7pm. Arrive early if you like, shop and place your items in a cooler in your car. This is a pay-on-your-own event. This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you. **SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events. **OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome. **Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. **Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions. **Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine. **Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic. **After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
