99 Easy Steps to Austrian Integration | Terence Hartnett Live @TheComedyPub
99 Easy Steps to Austrian Integration | Terence Hartnett Live @TheComedyPub
## [GET TICKETS HERE!!!](https://www.eventbrite.at/e/99-easy-steps-to-austrian-integration-terence-hartnett-live-thecomedypub-tickets-1983481860639?aff=MeetUp) A fast-paced English comedy show about surviving — and loving — life in Austria. ## An American’s Guide to Becoming Austrian (In Only 99 Easy Steps) Two years ago, NYC comedian **Terence Hartnett** moved to Vienna for love. Now, after navigating bureaucracy, Kaffeehaus culture, German grammar traps, recycling rules, and the mysterious emotional rhythm of Austrian friendliness, he’s ready to present his definitive — and completely foolproof — 99-step integration plan. This is English-language Kabarett meets sharp stand-up comedy — rapid-fire, intelligent, self-aware, and deeply relatable for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider in a new country. ## What the Show Explores * ☕ **How to Order at a Viennese Kaffeehaus** (The service is half as attentive as in America… but so is the expected tip.) * 🚋 **How to Master Public Transport** (If it looks free, it probably isn’t.) * 📚 **A1 German Confusion** (“Wer ist die toilette?” does NOT mean what you think it means.) * ❄️ **Austrian (Un)Friendliness** Austrians aren’t unfriendly — they just take three years to decide if they like you. * ♻️ **Recycling** Enough said. Through rapid punchlines, sharp cultural comparisons, and heartfelt storytelling, Hartnett examines the small daily moments where cultures collide — and where humor saves us. ## Cultural Relativity, Explained Through Laughter Kurt Vonnegut once wrote: *“Cultural relativity is defensible, attractive. It's a source of hope.”* As an outsider, Hartnett looks at Austrian culture with curiosity instead of criticism. What seems strange through American eyes becomes funny, thoughtful, and sometimes even beautiful. There is a lot to love. A little to resent. And so much to laugh about. Through gentle teasing and sharp self-deprecation, **everyone becomes the punchline — including the comedian himself.** ## Who This Show Is For ✔ Expats navigating Austrian life ✔ Austrians curious how they look from the outside ✔ English-speaking comedy lovers in Vienna ✔ Anyone who has ever lived abroad ✔ Fans of smart, cultural, observational stand-up If you’ve ever struggled with integration, paperwork, language, or just figuring out where to stand on an escalator — this show is for you. ## About Terence Hartnett Terence Hartnett is a New York City comedian known for blending personal storytelling with sharp cultural observations. His work bridges continents with humor that is intelligent, warm, and quietly philosophical — without ever losing the punchlines. ## Why You Should Come Because integration is hard. Because Austria is confusing. Because cultural differences are funny. Because laughter makes everything easier. **99 Easy Steps to Austrian Integration** is a love letter to Austria — written in jokes. Seats are limited. Arrive early, grab a drink, and get ready to laugh at the beautiful absurdity of living between cultures. #TerenceHartnett #99EasySteps #EnglishComedyVienna #ExpatComedy #ComedyInVienna #StandUpVienna #IntegrationComedy #AmericanInAustria #ViennaComedy #KabarettEnglish #LiveComedyVienna #CulturalComedy #TheComedyPub #ViennaEvents #ThingsToDoInVienna

Blending narration, stillness, and beautiful imagery, it tells the story of a father, a mother, and their children — unfolding like a dream or a remembered story. Tender, reflective, and deeply meditative. IMDb: 7.2/10 – Runtime: 1h 41m. 🍽️ Post Meetup Food at China Zentrum Stiegengasse! 😁😁 If you just joined, please fill up this survey so we can better tailor the films we show. MUT is a non profit organization that provides us with the space to host the event. A small donation towards their cause helps them a lot.

**Women’s Circle \| Forgiveness & Self\-Healing** **Sunday\, 15\.03\. \| 12:00–14:00** Join us this Sunday for a small and intimate **women\*** circle centered around the theme of **forgiveness** — towards ourselves, someone else, the past, or any experience life has brought to us. Our women\* circles offer a supportive and intentional space to slow down, connect more deeply, and share what is present within us. Each gathering is centered around a preselected topic, which we explore through conversation, reflection, and gentle body- and breath-based practices. You do not need any prior experience — only a willingness to arrive as you are. We will begin with a cup of tea together, take some time to land, warm up, and gently arrive in the space. Each circle is limited to a maximum of six women, so that everyone has space to speak, listen, and be heard. This circle welcomes all who identify, or wish to identify, in any way with the term **woman** or **FLINTA**. **Important:** We will be sitting on the floor on a Japanese-style mat. Some cushions will be available, but please bring your own pillow and/or blanket if you would like extra comfort. If sitting on the floor does not feel right for you, chairs and a sofa are also available :) Please try to arrive on time so that we can start and finish together.

Run+B-fast
Run+B-fast
Hi Running fellows, Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us! Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast. Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too. What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :) We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast! Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45. We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier. Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup. Important disclaimer: Please only run as much as you feel you can, considering the temperature, weather conditions, your own fitness etc... run and walk at your own pace as the organizers do not assume any liability for any injuries or health issues. Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine. We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit. Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times. Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have. Happy writing!

Bad Girls Book Club March 2026
Bad Girls Book Club March 2026
**Our March pick is *God of the Woods* by Liz Moore.** **This month’s novel is an award-winning literary mystery that blends family drama with psychological suspense. It explores women’s voices and relationships while delivering an exciting, eerie, and deeply suspenseful story. The book is 576 pages in print or 14 hours and 35 minutes on audiobook.** Early morning, August 1975: a camp counselor discovers an empty bunk. Its occupant, Barbara Van Laar, has gone missing. Barbara isn’t just any thirteen-year-old: she’s the daughter of the family that owns the summer camp and employs most of the region’s residents. And this isn’t the first time a Van Laar child has disappeared. Barbara’s older brother similarly vanished fourteen years ago, never to be found. As a panicked search begins, a thrilling drama unfolds. Chasing down the layered secrets of the Van Laar family and the blue-collar community working in its shadow, Moore’s multi-threaded story invites readers into a rich and gripping dynasty of secrets and second chances. It is Liz Moore’s most ambitious and wide-reaching novel yet.
