A unique musical experience called a "Sound Bath"
Sound bath! What's that?
According to sonic specialist Monte Hansen from Annapolis MD, "A sound bath is an immersion in sound frequency that cleans your soul."
Leave your rubber ducky at home.
Bring your blankey instead, for this super relaxing immersion!
According to cutting-edge doctors from Harvard, some of the deepest most profound healing in the body are accomplished with sound frequency.
That's old news though.
A 2nd century stone relief in the Himalayan mountains shows us that Buddha and his entourage knew this before Christ walked the earth.
The stone relief depicts the Buddha and his buddies playing ancient Tibetan singing bowls.
A sound frequency specialist from the [Human Activation School](https://humanactivation.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d88b4fea1b0f4ceaeb58f0e82&id=d6674b4603&e=465ba11f44), will be playing several of these rare Singing Bowls, some of which are over 200 years old.
A magical alchemy of 7-12 different metals rings in the past, present, and future for our relaxing enchantment. Even modern doctors are using these old metal bowls for healing, and they are not practicing Buddhists!
As a matter of fact, modern Buddhists no longer use the bowls in their practice.
Come experience these gifts from the past in this NON-religious practice of our present. Come be rejuvenated or just captivated by this unique musical performance. Bring your pillows, blankeys, and yoga mats and snuggle into the comfort of the tranquil sounds. Feel free to sit, lay, or even stand!

Read & Reflect: A Social Reading Circle.
Shared Pages, Shared Insights.
📚 Do you love reading, but wish you had a structure and a community to share your insights with?
Join our small circle of curious minds (just 4 members per gathering) as we come together for an hour of focused reading—in the calm setting of a library or the cozy atmosphere of a café.
Here’s how it works:
First part: Quiet reading on your own—bring a book you’re exploring, whether it’s philosophy, history, psychology, literature, or anything meaningful to you.
Second part: We regroup and each person shares key takeaways, insights, or questions sparked by their reading. This sparks a structured yet free-flowing conversation around ideas, perspectives, and personal reflections.
Why join?
Add structure to your reading habit.
Discover new books, authors, and ideas through others’ choices.
Build real connections by sharing and listening deeply.
Socialize around something meaningful instead of small talk.
Lesbian Happy Hour!!!
**This exciting event is listed on Go Gay DC as a community courtesy by an allied-group and is not run by Go Gay DC; just go and have a blast anyway!**
Please join us for our exclusive DC Lesbian Happy Hour (the original home of the color-coded stoplight name tags) at The Ven at Embassy Row Hotel in Dupont Circle!
**It looks like the free format is here to stay for the time being!**
Please note that while our name is "Lesbian Happy Hours", we welcome all female-identifying women who love women... and our allies.
We should be in the art gallery downstairs for this one, but I will let you know if that changes!
Address: the Ven at Embassy Row Hotel in Dupont Circle, 2015 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20036
What to expect:
\*Exclusive use of the space for 3 hours
* Happy hour specials for beer, canned cocktails, and select wine specials (red, white, sparkling, and rosé)
* Stoplight name tags; red means you are unavailable, yellow means it's complicated, green means you are single... and presumably ready to mingle
* Karaoke!
Valet Parking is available (limited when the hotel is at full occupancy) at about half-price ($16 vs $30 as of the time I'm writing this). Please call the hotel if you are interested in the cost of parking. Street parking is also available and of course the Metro is nearby.
21+ Only.
Dress: Casual, jeans, after work wear, dressy.
See you then! Melinda

Reiki Circle
Time for a Reiki circle!
A Reiki Circle this is a gathering of Reiki practitioners who work in a group to provide Reiki treatments on each other. The main purpose of the Reiki share is to give and receive Reiki in a casual atmosphere of friendship, encouragement, and positive energy. We will share our wisdom and skills, socialize and make new friends in this Reiki community.
Space is limited to 10 people. We will see if we need to grow or shrink from there.
Let us know if you have and questions or if you would like to facilitate the event.
See you there!

ClubFeminist - Join our first gathering
**Feminists unite**! *Join us for the very first meeting of ClubFeminist.*
This inaugural gathering will be an opportunity for founding members (you!) to meet, get to know one another, and begin an open conversation about feminism, gender expectations, and what equality means in our lives today.
This first event will focus on creating a welcoming space for thoughtful dialogue. We’ll introduce the vision for ClubFeminist, hear from attendees about what topics matter most to them, and discuss the kinds of conversations and events we’d like to build together.
**Some questions we may explore:**
• What does feminism mean to you?
• What challenges do women still face today?
• How can men be better allies in advancing equality?
• What kinds of conversations or activities would you like this group to host?
This is a **founding meeting**, so your voice will help shape the direction of the group moving forward.
I started this group because I was surprised a space like this didn’t already exist locally. Conversations about equality feel more important than ever, and this group is meant to be a place where they can happen openly and thoughtfully.
If this is something that gets you fired up or you’re someone who believes in respectful conversation and equal rights for women and men you are very welcome.
Hope to see you all there!

Recruiting Virtual Mental Health Group Leaders!
We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country.
Read below to learn about our groups and click the links at the bottom to apply.
### **What is an Outdoor Empowerment Group?**
Our Outdoor Movement & Community Empowerment Groups are simple, guided experiences designed to help people reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We combine some form of movement (hike, walk, run, bike, yoga, workout) and meaningful conversation within a simple community circle to create a space where individuals can support each other while prioritizing mental and physical well-being.
Whether you’re seeking stress relief, personal growth, or community, our groups offer everyone a unique and welcoming environment.
## **Why Join?**
* **Improve Mental & Physical Well-Being** – Movement, nature, and supportive conversations reduce stress and promote balance.
* **Feel Less Alone** – Build genuine connections with like-minded people in a safe, welcoming space.
* **Gain Clarity & Perspective** – Step outside daily routines and into a space designed for personal growth and reflection.
## **The Ideal Group Leader**
The ideal group leader
* Has a born-in passion for mental health, movement, connecting with nature and building community.
* Has 5 extra hours per week to dedicate to a meaningful cause for at least one year. Yes, you can leave any organization at any time and we can also ask you to leave, but we are building with legacy in mind and we need people who can commit and be ALL IN on this mission to build with us.
* Is independently financially stable with the ability to volunteer with no expectation of pay. This is a deeply beautiful journey of service that all participants commit to at Speak Your Mind.
* An ability to manage groups with high emotional intelligence and desire for human connection.
* An ability to self-motivate and market/promote their group on Facebook and other social platforms.
* Nature informed therapy or clinical therapists/psychologists a plus.
## **Our Impact**

Since launching, we have helped thousands find support, connection, and healing through our Outdoor Movement Groups. 100% of participants surveyed have reported:
* A noticeable improvement in mental clarity and emotional well-being.
* An increase in social connection and a sense of belonging.
* Said they would return again.
We believe mental health should be accessible, community-driven, and rooted in nature. Join us and take the first step toward a more connected, grounded, and supported version of yourself.
### **Why Our Groups are Donation-Based**
Our Outdoor Movement Groups are made possible through a donation-based model. This approach allows us to keep our events accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, while also ensuring that we can continue expanding our reach. It’s a great way to pay it forward and support the growth of this beautiful mission!
Every contribution helps us:
* **Cover Essential Costs** – Donations allow us to pay essential legal, marketing, insurance, and admin costs as well as nourish the important people who run the organization.
* **Grow Our Mission** – With your support, we can bring these healing experiences to thousands more people in the future and execute our long term plan to expand across the USA, affecting up to 500,000 people per year.
By choosing to contribute, you’re not just leading an event—you’re helping build a mental health movement that supports long-term well-being and connection for all during a severe mental health epidemic.
