Courage to Grow: A 4-Week Journey into Relationships & Self-Transformation
Are you noticing the same patterns showing up in your relationships—whether with partners, family, or even yourself?
Do you find yourself over giving, overthinking, or feeling stuck in cycles you can’t quite explain?
You’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Join us for a 4-week guided series designed to help you better understand yourself, heal emotional patterns, and build more intentional, fulfilling relationships.
This is a small, supportive group experience where we explore the connection between your inner world and your relationships—with compassion, curiosity, and courage.
Each session includes:
* Guided reflection exercises
* Practical tools for real-life situations
* Thoughtful discussion (sharing always optional)
* A safe, judgment-free space
**Weekly Themes**
**Week 1: Awareness — Understanding Your Patterns**
Identify recurring relationship dynamics, emotional triggers, and attachment styles.
**Week 2: Emotional Healing — Meeting Your Inner Self**
Reconnect with your emotional needs and begin practicing self-compassion.
**Week 3: Boundaries & Communication — Choosing Yourself**
Learn how to set boundaries, express needs, and navigate relationships more confidently.
**Week 4: Integration — Becoming the Person You Want to Attract**
Align your inner growth with the relationships you want to create moving forward.
This series may be a good fit if you:
* Feel stuck in repeating relationship patterns
* Want to better understand your emotions and reactions
* Are working on boundaries, self-worth, or communication
* Are going through a transition or healing process
* Are simply curious about personal growth in a supportive space
**A Note on This Space**
This is a reflective and supportive group experience, not therapy. Sharing is always optional, and participants are encouraged to engage at their own comfort level.
To help create a safe and respectful environment, we ask that all participants honor each other’s privacy and confidentiality.
**How to Join**
You’re welcome to attend one session or join us for the full series—each session is designed to be valuable on its own. Spots are intentionally limited to 5-7 participants—we’d love to have you join us.

Wine Therapy (Huntington)
Cozy Wine Therapy events are back. This is my kind of therapy session. In the comfort of my living room (or a volunteer), we will unwind and share our personal highlights and lowlights since we last met, and with the help of friends (and wine) we will "release" any negativity we may be holding onto as well. We will be here to listen and share advice if that is what's needed. Sometimes just having someone to listen is all we need to feel better. Be prepared to share! No couch surfers allowed. :-)
My living room is a safe non-judgmental space. What is shared will not be discussed beyond my living room unless you decide to share.
Feel free to bring a bottle of wine to supplement the stock, or a snack, if you wish.
NOTE: My apartment is NOT good for those with cat allergies. I am conveniently located a mile from Huntington Metro Station off of Huntington Ave. with plenty free parking. To be invited into my home, I will have had to meet you at an event prior. Makes sense, right? I will message the group my address a few days before. Make sure your notifications are ON.

**The Ride: Detail**
**+++++++++++++++++++++**
It's a classic ride from Shirlington west on the W&OD as we head to Lazy Mike’s Delicatessen 8 miles out on Leesburg Pike in Falls Church. Here we will enjoy a nice brunch. There are tables outside with QR codes for ordering. The good news (after riding uphill all the way to Lazy Mike’s) is that the hardest part of the ride is over. It is mostly downhill all the way back to Shirlington.

NoVA CBG tries to accommodate all levels of cyclists by offering different types/levels of rides. We just ask that you come to the ride that suits your current riding ability the best.

* Beginner Level: You can ride for 10+ miles at a pace of 10+ to 12+ mph with potentially minor hills involved.
* Medium Level: You can ride for 20+ miles at a pace of 13+ to 15+ mph with potentially moderate hills involved.
* Advanced Level: You can ride for 20++ miles at a pace of 15+ mph with potentially major hills involved.
Both Medium and Advanced Levels might require handling various challenges such as reading cue sheets, using a Garmin or navigation app, night riding, out of town travel, or any other odd cycling situations.

When coming to the meetup you do so voluntarily and are ready and able to participate in the ride as described under the conditions of the day. Be on time for the "pre-ride" preparation. If you do not attend the pre-ride preparation you will not be allowed to participate on the ride. There are NO exceptions to the above.

Jim & Molly Denton AT Shelter Beginner Backpacking Trip
A beautiful out and back hike on the Appalachian Trail passing through fields, streams, lush forest, with a night spent at the Jim and Molly Denton Shelter. This is generally considered a “quiet” section of the AT. Trumbo Hollow is an expansive meadow with a bench at the high point. With fields and fences that make you feel like you are in a J.R.R. Tolkien novel, the hike down towards VA638 is one more picturesque moment. From the valley, enjoy another forest walk before arriving at the Jim and Molly Denton Shelter, which boasts a picnic pavilion and gravity fed shower. There is a water source at the shelter.

Men's Group meetup
**The idea for this group is to build a community where men can gather together and build connections & learn and grow from each other.**
How we start each meeting is by each of us checking in with our "roses and thorns" aka what are the good things and the bad things going on in your life recently?
Then we will go into a topic discussion.
\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-

2. Non-Judgement - we respect and honor every man’s truth so that we may receive the same from others. While we may not agree on everything, we commit to respecting every man’s perspectives and engaging in honorable discussion with one another.
3. Be committed - honor your commitment to this group and to yourself. If you attend a meeting, please commit yourself fully to the meeting. Also be committed to your own journey. When we fail, we own it & clean it up.
