The Dissident Salon is a weekly poetry and performance series created as an extension of the DISSIDENT Club’s mission to provide a home for dissenting voices, hosted by Alissa Leeds. Rooted in the tradition of the literary salon, it treats writing and performance as public acts that question power and challenge the systems that shape our lives. Each week features a curated performer, followed by open mic sessions open to all. Work may be presented in English, French, or other languages. Multilingual expression is central to the space and reflects the realities of exile, displacement, and exchange that define the DISSIDENT Club. The Salon is an ongoing forum for people who speak publicly and think critically through art. Because 15 years ago still feels like yesterday, the Paris Quiz Mistress has chosen to craft a trivia night centered on the 2010s, our recent history tinged with neo-nostalgia, like a wine that hasn't aged long enough but that we already yearn to drink. There are usually 2 sessions to choose from. **This session is open to intermediate level players and above ONLY.** What that means is that you should be comfortable with short serves to the T, doubles rotations, and smashes. There is also an 11 am Open Session for players of all abilities. If you're unsure of your level, sign up for the 11am session to start or ask us! We will try our utmost to ensure that you play with people of similar levels. As such, we can and will restrict participation at this 12pm session at our discretion. **What Do You Need** Don't worry about equipment; racquets and shuttlecocks are provided, and there's no need for a badminton license or insurance. Just bring your indoor sports shoes, and a willingness to meet new friends and have lots of fun. There are changing rooms and showers. **Get There Early** Try and get there early to change and get warmed up so that we can start right on time. **Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind.** **If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward at Prost Beer and Wine Cafe. Www.prostcafe.com**

We'll hike 3.4 miles on the Killdeer and Yellowlegs Trails - both out and back gravel trails. If we want more mileage we can repeat an out and back. Pace of around 3.5 mph, no one left behind and those who want to go faster sure can! As always optional lunch after. This is the second Metro Park in the lineup for me - with 21 to go (plus more are being added).

We will hike the Ridge Trail and Meadows Trail twice, for a total of 3.8 miles. There are some pretty good inclines so plan on getting a cardio workout :). This is a loop which is pretty easy to follow; thus faster walkers can take the lead and the rest (like me) will bring up the rear at a slightly slower pace. You could also just do the loop once for 1.9 miles. No one left behind. Optional lunch to follow in Canal Winchester. I'm working through the metro parks - this is the third one!
