✒️Ink & Drink: a Star is born ⭐️
✒️Ink & Drink: a Star is born ⭐️
Somewhere, in a hospital or a bedroom or a room you've never seen, you arrived. Outside, the world had no idea. The newspaper was already printed. The radio played on. History moved at its usual pace — completely indifferent to you. 🎂 But what if it wasn't? What if the world that day was, somehow, the world that made you? ✨ ✨ ✨ 🔍 🥂Join us for a historic Ink & Drink session, hosted by a very special guest, Deji. We will share a drink and start with a simple act of curiosity: Google your birth date, day, month, and year. Find out exactly what was happening in the world on the day you arrived — who else was born, what was being celebrated, what was falling apart or being built. Choose one event that really jumps out at you. Then, write. • Retell the story of your birth with this event in mind. Imagine the newspaper headlines that morning — did your mother read the paper? What was on her mind? • What conversations were happening in the room around you? What did the world smell like, sound like, feel like — on that very specific day? No prior writing experience is needed. Optional prompts will guide you, or you can follow your own instinct wherever it leads. Sharing at the end is always optional. ✒️ Ink & Drink is a creative writing evening in English — a relaxed, social gathering around words, ideas, and a shared drink. ✨ ✨ ✨ ☕️ The event is free — please plan to order at least one drink on site as a gesture of respect toward the Moudi restaurant hosting us. 🍲🧆For those who wish, you're warmly invited to stay afterward for a Lebanese dinner — a lovely way to continue conversations and grow a creative community together. Looking forward to rewriting history together! ✍️✨ ⌚️When: Wednesday, April 29 | 6:45 PM - 8:30 PM 📍 Location: Bei Moudi am Kunsthaus (restaurant/bar)

Take a moment for yourself by the lake. This lakeside mindfulness session is created to help you slow down, breathe, and reconnect in a calm outdoor setting. We’ll start with a short 5-minute introduction round, followed by 10 minutes of guided breathing exercises to help you relax and reset. Writers' Workshop
Writers' Workshop
Join us at Museum Strauhof for an opportunity to enjoy, discuss and learn from excellent writing. We'll have a private room at Zurich's literature museum, less than a 10 minute walk from Zurich HB. There will be three reading and discussion slots and an opportunity to meet other writers. A few notes for prospective writers: 1. You aren’t required to share your own work and should feel encouraged to attend simply to enjoy and discuss the work of others, if you prefer. 2. All genres, formats, and styles of creative writing welcome, noting that the focus will be on discussing English-language fiction (or creative non-fiction). Poetry is likely to be better suited to the marvellous Zürich Poetry Club. 3. All abilities are welcome, from those just starting out to those who have already made progress in their writing, from hobbyists to professionals. 4. There will be three reading slots for each session, allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please indicate in the comments for the event if you would like to share something. 5. If you would like to share your writing with the group, you can do so either by reading aloud or allowing group members to read directly. You can expect to read for 5-7 minutes (approximately 600-1000 words) with 15-20 minutes provided for discussion afterwards. 6. If possible, please bring sufficient copies of any writing that you would like to present, so that everyone can read it themselves. You can also request written feedback. 7. Improving as a writer requires both guidance and encouragement, so you can expect the discussion to be constructive and courteous - we all know how challenging it can be. We hope that you will be able to join, and look forward to seeing you there!

Open-mic StorySLAM 🎙 POINT OF NO RETURN
### **CROSSING THE RUBICON** Have you ever made a choice that changed everything? A moment where the door slammed shut behind you, and the only way out was going through? On Thursday, April 30th, we are gathering for a ZST mainstage evening of true stories about those life-altering leaps, irreversible decisions, and the glorious (or disastrous;-) aftermath of saying "why not!" "*Ships are safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are built for.*" — John A. Shedd ### **ARE YOU ALL IN?** We’ve all stood on that edge. Maybe it was the moment you finally hit "un-subscribe" from an unfulfilling job, the night you committed to a FWB "situationship," or that impulsive decision to move outside the city where there's only one bus per hour. Once you roll the dice, there’s no turning back. Whether you ended up exactly where you needed to be or found yourself in a completely unexpected reality, we want to hear your truth. ### **MOMENTS OF NO RETURN:** * **The Leap of Faith:** That career pivot or international move that felt like jumping without a parachute. * **The Bridge Burned:** When you finally stood your ground, spoke your truth, and knew things would never be the same. * **The Point of Impact:** A split-second decision—heroic, hilarious, or heartbreaking—that changed forever who you are today. ### **JOIN THE FRAY** Whether you’re a seasoned teller or just realized you have the perfect story while reading this, your voice belongs on our stage. Not ready to bare your soul? Come for the drama, stay for the community, and help us vote for the "Best Storytelling of the Night. Bring a Book, Share a Story
Bring a Book, Share a Story
**[Bring a Book, Share a Story](https://www.analog-connection.com/event-details/bring-a-book-share-a-story)** *Not a book club. Just an easy evening of books, stories, and honest conversation with people you haven't met yet.* Here's the idea: you bring one book that helped you through a change, a challenge, or a meaningful moment in your life — and we share the stories behind them over dinner. It could be a novel that got you through a difficult winter. A non-fiction book you picked up during a career shift. Something a friend pressed into your hands at exactly the right moment. Fiction, non-fiction, serious, surprising — anything goes, as long as it meant something. No reading required in advance. No literary knowledge needed. Whether you read one book a year or one a week, you're welcome here. **What to expect:** A small group around a table. A relaxed, facilitated conversation. Casual food, honest talk, no pressure to perform. *Come with a book, a story to share and an open mind* 📅 Thu\, 30 April 2026 \|18\.30\-20\.30 📍 Zurich Old Town (Specifics will be announced closer to date) 🎟 Free, but Space is limited so secure your spot early.

Chinese Characters Workshop
Chinese Characters Workshop
The limits of our language are the limits of our world, because language is the filtering prism through which we separate ourselves from raw reality. To expand our perception, we must dismantle the boundaries of our linguistic framework. **Even if you don't plan to learn Chinese, this workshop will bring value to you by teaching you to look at things from a completely different perspective and facilitating self-development.** It is a linguo-philosophical journey into the world of Chinese characters, infused with the visual aesthetics and meditative quality of calligraphy, that has a practical coaching implication. **You will learn:** \* how to read, write, and type Chinese characters. \* how to look at things from a fundamentally different perspective — one that moves beyond habitual linear logic and toward non-verbal, symbolic thinking and pure thought. This live workshop is a part of a broader recorded course, which you can get access to in case you want to deepen your knowledge of the topic even further.

Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. Free in Person Meeting - Get Over Losses and Betrayls
Free in Person Meeting - Get Over Losses and Betrayls
Do you want more motivation and confidence to build Lasting Relationships? This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Are you burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival, while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This class is held at the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center.
