Internal Compass: Navigating Clarity, Intuition, and Modern Rhythms
Internal Compass: Navigating Clarity, Intuition, and Modern Rhythms
*"There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen." — Rumi* **What is one small, everyday decision you make purely based on a 'gut feeling' rather than logic?** From a young age, we are introduced to the fast-paced rhythm of modern life. We are taught to focus on efficiency, productivity, and meeting the non-stop demands of a highly driven, always-on culture. Often, we navigate these well-trodden paths—juggling the constant demands of our careers and the expectations of those around us—until we realize we might feel a bit disconnected from our personal center. Finding our internal compass is about pausing to check our alignment. It takes quiet courage to establish healthy boundaries, manage our energy, and gently prioritize personal well-being amidst daily busyness. However, in a culture that rightly values logic and hard work, or when we are simply prone to over-thinking, tuning into that compass can be tricky. It can be difficult to tell the difference between a genuine gut feeling and simple anxiety, or to know if we are protecting our peace versus just avoiding vulnerability. Join us at this Curious Souls Cafe gathering to explore the gentle journey of self-discovery and calibration. We will discuss how to find our own pace within a high-speed world, how to distinguish true intuition from everyday stress, and how we can build lives that feel deeply authentic while still honoring our responsibilities. Bring your stories, a reflective spirit, and an open mind. Let's discover the groundedness and clarity that comes when we navigate life with a well-calibrated compass. **Inviting those who...** 🧭 Wish to gently explore how to align their daily habits and career goals with their core personal values. 🧠 Sometimes struggle with over-thinking, and want to practice telling the difference between a genuine gut feeling and everyday stress. ⚖️ Want a warm space to discuss the delicate balance between being a reliable, responsible person and protecting their own personal time. 🌱 Seek to balance the rigorous demands of a hyper-connected world with the quiet, restorative practices that bring them genuine joy. 🗣️ Hope to connect with kindred spirits who are also learning to manage the noise of modern life while staying grounded and true to themselves. **📅 Agenda / What You'll Experience** 💬 Prompted Conversations We will use virtual question cards designed to help people thoughtfully explore the foundations of their personal values. Here are some sample questions: * What is a common productivity standard or hustle-culture habit that you’ve gently decided to soften to better protect your peace? * When you find yourself over-thinking or trying to 'calculate' the perfect decision, how do you get back in touch with your gut feeling? * What is the difference between your gut pointing away from something because it's a genuinely bad idea, versus pointing away simply because you are nervous to try it? * What is a common productivity standard or hustle-culture habit that you’ve gently decided to soften to better protect your peace? * Instead of trying to optimize every minute, what is one area of your routine where you happily allow yourself to just be perfectly, unproductively human? From there, we’ll embark on a respectful, engaging, and meaningful conversation, celebrating the diversity of perspectives and ideas within the group. Note: This session may involve virtual question cards accessed via a link or QR code. If you do not have a device (phone/tablet) to access these, please ask a facilitator for assistance; we have spare units available. The exact format of the event may change depending on turnout according to [https://curioussouls.cafe/#how-to](https://curioussouls.cafe/#how-to) and other factors. 💬 Final Thoughts and Feedback Where time allows, in the final 10 minutes of the event, we’ll take a moment to reflect on the key insights, memorable moments, and takeaways from our discussions. This is a chance to distill the shared wisdom and leave with a deeper understanding of the topics we’ve explored together. After the event officially concludes, the group may choose to extend the session, depending on the group’s interest. Of course, you’re welcome to leave at any time that feels right for you. An anonymized summary will be shared for sessions where key insights are identified. After the meeting, our facilitators and participants may reflect on the discussion and contribute to a summary or collaborative workbook based on their notes and observations. Additionally, questions may be revisited in future sessions in an anonymized manner. To explore what our events are like, check out our official website at [https://curioussouls.cafe](https://curioussouls.cafe) 📍 Location City: Hong Kong Address: Empire Centre, 68 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East Inside the shopping mall of Empire Centre, there is a large open area dedicated to a café. Goat Crashers at One Shot Saturday (Tabletop RPGs)
Goat Crashers at One Shot Saturday (Tabletop RPGs)
**Goat Crashers:** You're a CHEEKY LITTLE GOAT and you want to PARTY. Problem is, the only party is being held by HUMANS who don't want goats to 'ruin' it. But to HELL WITH THEM. You're going to get inside by any means necessary and have the BEST TIME. **Lost So Deep Underground:** You've been down here so long, you've quite forgotten why you're even down this far underground. Now your thoughts are all about getting out of these endless dark caves and maybe, just maybe, feeling sunlight on your skin again. A Dungeon World adventure. WHAT IS ONE-SHOT SATURDAY? It's a weekly meet-up in Sheung Wan/Central, focusing on indie games and single-session games (one-shots). 而家所有游戏係英文嘅但如果你要嚟玩中文游戏,我哋會無任歡迎。只要湊啱玩家就行! You can drop in and play at any One-Shot Saturday – you do not need to have played in a previous session or commit to playing again. Whether you've played an RPG before or not, you're welcome to join us. Please arrive on time as once the games begin it becomes difficult to properly introduce latecomers. Join the conversation, make plans, suggest games to play, etc. — Facebook group: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/oneshotsaturdays/](https://www.facebook.com/groups/oneshotsaturdays/) \*\*\* WHAT IS A TABLETOP RPG? It's a game in which you never know where the next stop will be, because it’s all down to the decisions you and your fellow players make. Usually one person is the Game Master (or "GM"). Everyone else will be players, taking the role of the characters in the game. The players get to say what their characters say, think, and do. The GM describes everything else in the world. Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.

Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have. Happy writing!
June Book Club Meetup
June Book Club Meetup
Welcome, readers! Our June read is ***Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible*** ***Voyage*** **by Alfred Lansing.** A work of nonfiction, and one of the most astonishing survival stories in history, we follow Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew after their ship is crushed by Antarctic ice. Stranded in one of the harshest environments on Earth, the men endure months of isolation, freezing temperatures, and near starvation—yet refuse to give up hope. Lansing brings their ordeal to life through vivid detail and firsthand accounts, capturing both the brutality of nature and the resilience of the human spirit. At its core, the story is a powerful testament to leadership, perseverance, and the unbreakable will to survive against impossible odds. Looking forward to discussing with everyone! We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **all** **drinks must be purchased at the bar.** Happy reading! 📖
