**About ACC**
The Academy for Coaching and Counselling (ACC) has offered training programs in the field of coaching and counselling since 1996. We stand for a personal approach with a focus on our studentsā unique life paths. At the ACC, we attach great importance to quality. This is also reflected by our various accreditations, certifications and quality marks.
We offer training programs in which people discover and develop their own talents, and learn to guide others in their process. In Year 1, youāll learn the fundamentals of coaching and counselling. After completing this first year, you can deepen your skills and choose to specialize further ā for example, by continuing with Year 2 or enrolling in our Addiction and Recovery specialization. Both Year 1 and Year 2 programs are available either in-person (classroom) or Live Online (via Zoom). The online program gives you the possibility to be guided by a teacher and practice with your fellow students onscreen from anywhere in the world.
Offroad ride #1 2026, easy offroad, beginner friendly!
Offroading ride in Diermen, Meerveld, Lunteren.
Our usual easy "get back into riding" route.
Meeting at 10am, will ride +-120km of a mixed road and offroad. Should be a 40/60 mix, the route (as usual...) may be a bit outdated and sections may need to be circumvented.
The route is relatively easy and flat with moderate hardpacked sand stretches (unless rainy, then expect mud ;) ).
Will ride unless there are thunderstorms, so if it's just rain, bring your rain gear...
Also bring snacks. We will stop for food if there's a nice place to do so.
All skill level riders welcome to join. Our experienced riders have patience to teach and help you get accustomed to adventure riding if you are new to it.
ADV tires are required (knobbies, preferably at least 40/60).
See you then!

Real Estate #1: Kasteel Groeneveld ā Architecture and Life in the 18th Century
**Real Estate** is a new series dedicated to exploring villas, estates, and remarkable buildings across the Netherlands ā places that are often overlooked, not because they lack beauty or significance, but because they still exist quietly within the fabric of everyday life.
The first event of the series takes us to **Kasteel Groeneveld**, an elegant 18th-century country estate in Baarn with a distinctly international character. Built as a buitenplaats for the ruling elite, Groeneveld offers a rare opportunity to explore how architecture, landscape, art, and daily life were once woven together.
During our visit, we will explore both the **castle itself** and its vast **130-hectare estate**, discovering how regents lived, how the gardens and kitchen plots functioned, and how nature and culture were carefully shaped to coexist. The park is full of quiet details and unexpected corners that reveal a different perspective on Dutch history and landscape design.
This is not a rushed visit or a checklist of highlights, but a slow exploration of a place designed to be experienced through movement, space, and time.
### Practical information
* **Meeting point:** 13:00 at bus stop *Drakenburgerweg*, Baarn
* We will walk together from there to the estate and begin the exploration
* Comfortable shoes are recommended due to the size of the park
### After the visit
After exploring the estate, we will stop at **Grand CafƩ Groeneveld**, located on the grounds of the castle. The cafƩ offers a small but interesting selection of beers from local microbreweries such as **Swarte Os** and **Gooische**, providing a relaxed moment to reflect and exchange impressions after the walk.
**Real Estate** is about discovering places that quietly shape the cultural landscape of the Netherlands ā buildings and estates that tell stories not through spectacle, but through presence.

You are very welcome to join whether you are an experienced developer, or simply interested and want to chat!
Linux Repair CafƩ
Give your still good laptop a second life instead of ditching it because Windows 11 says it is no good... Or you heard Linux is cool.
If you have a backup of your data, that is great, else indicate that you do not, so we can help you.

The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese
**From the *New York Times*-bestselling author of *Cutting for Stone* comes a stunning and magisterial epic of love, faith, and medicine, set in Kerala, South India, following three generations of a family seeking the answers to a strange secret**
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, *The Covenant of Water* is set in Kerala, on Indiaās Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowningāand in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala's Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time. From this unforgettable new beginning, the young girlāand future matriarch, Big Ammachiāwill witness unthinkable changes over the span of her extraordinary life, full of joy and triumph as well as hardship and loss, her faith and love the only constants.
A shimmering evocation of a bygone India and of the passage of time itself, *The Covenant of Water* is a hymn to progress in medicine and to human understanding, and a humbling testament to the hardships undergone by past generations for the sake of those alive today. Imbued with humor, deep emotion, and the essence of life, it is one of the most masterful literary novels published in recent years.

Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: Venezuelaās Futureāand Ours
[Profs and Pints Northern Virginia](https://www.profsandpints.com/washingtondc) presents: **āVenezuelaās Futureāand Ours,ā** an analysis of how the Trump administrationās intervention in Venezuela will affect that nation, the U.S., and the rest of the world, with Ernesto CastaƱeda, Director of the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies and the Immigration Lab at American University.
[Advance tickets: $13.50 plus sales tax and processing fees. Available at [https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/profsandpints/nv-venezuela-future](https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/profsandpints/nv-venezuela-future) .]
On January 3rd, after a long military buildup, the United States used special forces to seize Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from their residence in Caracas, Venezuela to stand trial here on criminal charges.
The development marked a major turning point in our relationship with Venezuela and the rest of Latin America and raised a host of complex questions, not just for Venezuelans living inside and outside that country but for American citizens and other nations of the world.
Coming to the stage to break down what all of this means is Ernesto CastaƱeda, a scholar of Latin America who has given several excellent Profs and Pints talks on immigration policy and has given dozens of interviews to media outlets around the world in the wake of the U.S. raid.
In a talk offering informed perspective on the latest news developments, Professor CastaƱeda will discuss various theories about why the U.S. conducted the operation to get Maduro out of Venezuela. Heās put our nationās current plans for Venezuela into context by touching on previous U.S. military interventions in Latin America and beyond.
Professor CastaƱeda will look at the implications of recent events for U.S. politics and U.S. citizens and what such developments tell us about the balance of power in the United States. Heāll examine the distance between decisions made by the White House and public priorities, touching on how it all relates to our immigration policies and our views about peaceful protest and democracy.
Heāll consider how the Venezuela raid and our actions since have altered relations between the U.S. and other nations and provide scenarios about what the future might hold. (Door: $17, or $15 with a student ID. Listed time is for doors. The talk starts 30 minutes later.)
