Briar Chapel Fall Afternoon Workday
When: Friday November 9th 1pm to approximately 3-4pm, 2018
Where: Briar Chapel, Catullo Drive gravel parking.
Directions: Above link is correct, but: Chapel Hill to Briar Chapel on 15-501, Right turn onto Briar Chapel Parkway, Second paved left turn will be Catullo Run gravel parking lot.
What we will be doing: Depending on turnout, Rock armor a wet section of Copperhead West, fix some various drainage issues, and rebuild some berms on Bennett Mountain. This workday will address some basic drainage and erosion issues necessary to keep the trail in tip-top shape.
What to bring: Bring water, gloves and sturdy shoes or boots.
How long: Expect two to three hours of volunteer trail maintenance, including a pre-work sign-in, briefing and the hike to and from the worksite. If you can't make it by 1:00pm, please join us at the worksite.
Expectations: You should be able to come out and help maintain the trails while having a good time. Help the trails drain better while feeling good about taking part in their maintenance.
