Workday and Cookout at Centennial Park

Details

Come for the morning shift, or the afternoon shift, or both! The Bicycle Chain will be grilling lunch, so we'll take a break for that around noon, and back to work at 1:00. Must dig to eat!

There will be a porta-potty out there for this one, plus chairs, tables, and tents, water refill station. All courtesy of Person County Recreation!

We'll continue working on the perimeter trail.

Volunteers are able to drive to the new parking area. Be sure to bring water, and some snacks if you want them.

Tools needed: leaf blowers, leaf rakes, pruning tools, Pulaski for sapling removal.

Volunteers bringing tools should mark them so they can be returned in case of misplacement. There will be a lot of tools floating around.

There is no address so use this link for exact location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6yk2QUQ3xB31pnys7

ICYMI: We have started building trail at this new park that will be on the Durham / Person county line (Rougemont area). And we need your help!

The park will be named the Rotary Club of Roxboro Centennial Park.

This 280 acre park could have 10 miles of trails. And it’s only a 30 minute drive from downtown Durham. We are building the perimeter trail with volunteer help, to save the budget for the interior section. Hopefully we'll have a professional trail builder create some fun loops with advanced features.

**Please sign the TORC waiver** if you have not already signed. Only needs to be done once per calendar year.

And remember to join TORC if you aren't a member yet! Be an advocate for trails in the Triangle by joining our MTB club.
