• UNC Outdoor Education Center Work Day!

    Needs a location

    BIG NEWS!
On September 17th, OEC will be hosting a grand opening celebration and downhill race! Check out this Trail Science Instagram Post for more details!

    WE NEED YOUR HELP!

With this event being just 6 weeks out, we need a lot of basic trail maintenance like uplimbing trees, weeding, and trail tune ups. So please join us and bring a plus 1!

The UNC Outdoor Education Center is the hidden jewel of Triangle Mountain Biking Trails. This shorter trail system is heavy on progressive features that will help you develop your mountain bike skills and will have you grinning ear to ear. Features include berms, rock features and dirt jumps.

Let's leverage our TORC community to help build out and maintain this sweet little trail system!

Please park at the T-lot parking area (“T-lot Chapel Hill”in Google maps) and look for the “+dirt” flag posted at the east edge of the lot. Walk a very short distance down the trail in from there to the shed.
If you arrive at the shed after trail building has started, listen for voices and head that way.

    • Trail work starts at: 9:00am
    • Duration of work day: No more than 3 hours
    • Type of work: Moving dirt and rocks, shaping features, clearing vines and brush and other dirtstyle trail work
    • Tools: Tools will be provided.
    • What to bring: sturdy shoes or boots, gloves, appropriate clothing, bug spray and water

  • Harris Lake Group Ride

    Needs a location

  • New to night riding/casual NO DROP night ride at Williamson Preserve

PLEASE CHECK https://www.trianglemtb.com/ FOR TRAIL STATUS.*
If the trail is closed the ride is canceled.
This ride is temperature dependent. PLEASE CHECK HERE TO BE SURE THE RIDE HASN'T BEEN CANCELED DUE TO LOW TEMPS.

This will be a casual no drop night ride at Williamson for those who are new to night riding or just want a casual night ride.
We will split into 2 groups.... a casual group and a super casual group.
Both groups will be no drop and will stop to regroup often to ensure no one is left behind.

*Please note that is is not a new to riding beginner ride.

We will meet between 5:30-5:45pm and try to be on the trail by 6:00pm.
Traffic sucks on the way to Williamson so we tend to be a little lenient.

We will meet at the white barn on the opposite side of the church from the main trail head parking lot. Parking here is by special permission for the night ride. (Parking here without special permission from TLC is not allowed and considered trespassing so please only park here with TLC's permission.)
PLEASE SEE THE LINK BELOW FOR PARKING. DO NOT PARK AT THE REGULAR PARKING LOT.
