Briar Chapel Trail Workday - October 11th

The next BC Trail workday is scheduled for October 11th, 9am at the BC Clubhouse. We’ll have breakfast snacks in the Clubhouse - meet us inside! We will drive to the work site(s) no later than 915am.

What are we doing?

  • Creating a re-ride trail for Dad Bod/unSTANKtioned . The current trail arrangement means users are climbing up a predominately downhill trail (lots of fast, downhill sections for mountain bikers). Adding a re-ride trail gives hikers and riders a safe way to get to the top of the hill. This re-ride trail is part of the 5 year BC Trail Strategic Plan; the BCCA Board & Keuster have given permission to build it.
  • Trimming some trail sections for the Rootrock Trail Run & MTB, on request.

What will TORC bring?

  • Shovels, hoes, a rake or two, rock bar
  • Weed whacker + trimmer
  • Other tools as needed (come alongs, chainsaw, etc)

What should you bring?

  • Your favorite dirt-work gear
  • Loppers, hand saws for small trees or branches
  • Gloves, water, appropriate clothing (long pants recommended, close toed shoes a must)

Kid friendly?
Yes, as long as they can follow rules (e.g. dig here, move this there, don’t step in front of a swinging tool). There is a chance we’ll encounter friendly and unfriendly wildlife.

Newbie friendly?
This is newbie friendly!

Post workday ride:
I’m looking for volunteers that are interested in leading one. I cannot due to childcare constraints.
