Briar Chapel Trail Workday - November 22nd, 2025
Details
Hey, it’s your friendly neighborhood Trail Coordinator!
The next BC Trail workday is scheduled for November 22nd, 9am at the BC Clubhouse. We’ll have breakfast snacks in the Clubhouse - meet us inside! We will drive to the work site(s) no later than 915am.
What are we doing?
- Finish restoring Frog Creek. We have a few small trees to clear, some trail to dig/bed, some thorn bushes to trim/clear.
- Add signage to Frog Creek!
- If not address earlier, clear 2 downed trees further back in the trail
- Address a couple finishing touches on a previous bridge build
- Remove 4x12 from previous bridge build (me + 1 more person needed)
- Add some filler & rocks to fill a gap at the previous bridge build site
- Stretch goals:
- Install signage in the work area (Great Gnar Ridge, BC Main Loop, BC Nature Trail)
- More work on Dad Bod Re-ride trail
What will TORC bring?
- Enough tools for 5-6 people to work on Frog Creek
- Tools to move heavy lumber (14’ long 4x12) and move gravel-like rocks
- Trail signage for the area + sign installation tool (only 1)
What should you bring?
- Your favorite dirt-work gear
- Loppers, hand saws for small trees or branches
- Gloves, water, appropriate clothing (long pants recommended, close toed shoes a must)
Kid friendly?
Yes, as long as they can follow rules (e.g. dig here, move this there, don’t step in front of a swinging tool). We will have a sawzall in use with the main group.
We may use a chainsaw, and if we do it’ll be away from the main work group.
Newbie friendly?
This is newbie friendly!
Post workday ride:
I’m looking for volunteers that are interested in leading one. I cannot due to childcare constraints.
