Briar Chapel Trail Workday - January 17th
Details
Hey, it’s your friendly neighborhood Trail Coordinator!
The next BC Trail workday is scheduled for January 17th, 9am at the BC Clubhouse. We’ll have breakfast snacks in the Clubhouse - meet us inside! We will drive to the work site(s) no later than 915am.
What are we doing?
- Repair a couple boards on a bridge at the bottom of Dad Bod (1 person)
- Install signage for Dad Bod, unSTANKtioned, Dad-Bod re-ride, and this side of Participate (2-3 people)
- Smooth out Dad Bod re-ride (2-3 people)
What will TORC bring?
- Enough tools for Dad Bod work
- Trail signage for the area + sign installation tool (only 1)
- A map of which signs go where
- Boards/tools to fix the bridge
What should you bring?
- Your favorite dirt-work gear
- Loppers, hand saws for small trees or branches
- Gloves, water, appropriate clothing (long pants recommended, close toed shoes a must)
Kid friendly?
Yes, as long as they can follow rules (e.g. dig here, move this there, don’t step in front of a swinging tool). We will have a sawzall in use with the main group.
We may use a chainsaw, and if we do it’ll be away from the main work group.
Newbie friendly?
This is newbie friendly!
Post workday ride:
I’m looking for volunteers that are interested in leading one. I cannot due to childcare constraints.
