The next Briar Chapel Trail workday is scheduled for July 25th, 9am at the Briar Chapel Clubhouse (1600 Briar Chapel Parkway, Chapel Hill, NC 27516). We’ll have Gatorade in the Clubhouse — meet us inside! We’ll drive to the work site(s) no later than 9:15am.

We’ll focus on 2 areas that washed out during the storms and clear a tree that fell on a trail. The tree should be easy — about 45 minutes for 1 person — and the washouts will vary based on source materials. If we end up with extra folks, we’ll send people out to trim parts of the trail.

Can’t make the trail day but still want to help at Briar Chapel? Contact the Meetup event host or email director@torc-nc.org and we’ll find trail work for you.

What are we doing?
• Fixing washouts on the trail
• Light trimming if we have enough people
What will TORC bring?
• Shovels, Rogue Hoes, and a few other tools for 4–8 people
• A map of where to go
• A chainsaw to remove the tree
• Gatorade
What should you bring?
• Gloves, water, appropriate clothing (long pants recommended, closed-toe shoes a must)
• Preferred digging tools
• Trimming tools just in case we have too many folks
Kid friendly? Yes!
Newbie friendly? Yes — this is newbie friendly!
Post-workday ride: We’re looking for a volunteer interested in leading one.
