Carolina North Singletrack Social
Details
- Title: Carolina North Singletrack Social
- Intended Audience: This ride is geared toward people who are seeking a social mountain bike ride through some of the best, most approachable singletrack trails in nearby Carolina North Forest (CNF).
This is a beginner/intermediate-level, no-drop (no one is left behind) ride from Back Alley Bikes to the CNF and back. We will try to pick a route that is appropriate for the group’s experience and skill-level, but consider that singletrack trails can be intense for newer riders.
We expect that riders attending this group have a baseline of being comfortable with riding bikes off-road and familiarity with tight and twisting trails, but strong technical skills are not required. Experienced riders are welcome, but we prioritize good vibes, riding comfortably, and staying together as a group over speed and intensity. Since there are lots of turns we will regroup often and stop and wait for each other as needed to ensure everyone stays together. - All riders must sign the 2026 TORC ride waiver before riding. You only need to fill it out once per year.
- If it is really wet and the trails are closed or it is actively raining, the ride will be cancelled. Check https://www.torc-nc.org/trail-status/ for Carolina North Forest for the trail closure status.
- Distance: ~10 miles (Likely route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56826860)
- Duration: About 2 hours (though maybe budget some hangout time after, as well)
- Meet @5:45pm @ Back Alley Bikes, Wheels rolling @ 6pm
- Helmets are required
- Water bottle/pack, multi-tool, and tire repair/inflation tools are highly recommended
- Bring lights as it will start getting dark on the way back!
- No headphones or other distractions
- Drinks/food after at Weaver or another nearby place is always an option and will go by the vibe at the end of the ride.
- Please reach out to the ride leader (Noah) with any questions you may have
