Dragon Boat End-of-Season Club Celebration, Open House, plans for 2025!

Details
After a very successful and full summer of practices and racing at the Rusty Dragons dragonboat club, we are all coming together to celebrate the season at this event. Representatives of all 8 teams, including coaches, captains, and paddlers will be present. We also invite anyone who guest-paddled with us this summer, as well as our business partners.
Most importantly, this is a great opportunity for the public to come and see what the sport is all about by hearing the team presentations, talking to members, and hearing about our big plans for 2025. This sport is for people of ALL abilities and experience in sport. We can't say enough about how accessible this sport is for anyone of any age, gender, fitness level, or "disability".
We'll start the event with a pot-luck and partially catered lunch, and later move on to celebrate the teams in turn. We will then have some special awards and announcements for 2025.
Our teams for 2025 include...
- Barracudas competitive team (regularly making A divisions).
- Liberty Waves LGBTQ team (our 2nd most competitive team).
- Mixed Ability (Our Special Olympics type teams).
- Flying Dragons
- We Will Rock You
- Strokes of Luck
- Water Wizards
- All Cancer Paddlers - **NEW** team for anyone diagnosed with any type of cancer.
- Indigenous team - **NEW** team
** All teams are mixed-gender and open to anyone.
** We hit the water in May each year, with registration opening between mid-January and mid-February on our website.
** Teams practice once a week in the summer, except for the Barracudas team who train twice a week (and they are recruiting!).
This sport is a fantastic way to meet new friends, stay active, and embrace the thrill of being out on the water. Don't miss out on this exciting outdoor adventure with like-minded individuals who share a love for dragon boating and outdoor fitness!
We also have an indoor winter training program that starts in January at an indoor paddle pool and gym. No experience is necessary if you want to join in and kick-start your season early.
At the Rusty Dragons, we pride ourselves on providing a positive experience for everyone, with a non-profit budget.
Monitor our website at www.RustyDragons.ca for details on upcoming events.
