Spring Equinox Ceremony

Details

The 2025 Spring Equinox Ceremony hosted by the Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Group will be led by Elder-in-Residence Catherine Brooks. The ceremony will begin at 12:30pm on Sunday March 23 at Noojimo'iwewin Gitigaan, the Healing Garden, at the outdoor Green space of St. Matthew's United Church (729 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto), so dress for the weather. The event is open to the public, but following Indigenous Protocols is required to participate.

I, Preston Walberg, host of Toronto Gardening with Indigenous Plants Meetup Group, as a Co-lead of Noojimo'iwewin Gitigaan, will be in attendance, but this is not my event to host and it will not be exclusively a Meetup Group event. Noojimo'iwewin Gitigaan is a manifestation of #LandBack so this is an opportunity for members of the Toronto Gardening with Indigenous Plants Meetup Group to experience local Indigenous Protocols of ceremony and land stewardship in the context of Indigenous Gardens.
