Toronto Gay Men 50 Plus Social Group

Toronto Gay Men 50-Plus Social Group is for those of us in the gay men's community age 50 and up.

Our hope is to provide a social gathering place where we can be ourselves and develop friendships within the gay community. Members will be able to chat casually with one another and get to know each other.

Our primary event is a monthly brunch, typically held on a Saturday, at a restaurant in or near the Gay Village. We frequently socialize after the brunch at a nearby bar. Brunches are sometimes themed, such as for Pride or the Christmas/Holiday season. We also organize mixers at local bars in the Gay Village.

Event announcements are usually released 3-4 weeks before the event date. The entire group receives the invite. Please RSVP as soon as possible.

Our group has a strict policy regarding attendance and members must RSVP to each event, and be on the main attendee list, in order to attend. Generally, our events are capped at 20-25 attendees.

If you RSVP YES to an event and are on the main attendee list, ensure you revise your RSVP to "NO" if something comes up and you cannot attend. Let's be fair and respectable to others and the restaurants and other businesses that we go to.

NOTE: If you RSVP "yes" to three events and do not show up you for these three events without updating your RSVP, will be removed from the group.

In order to be approved and maintain your membership in this group, your MeetUp profile must include a clear face picture (a sketch, animated photo, or a photo with your face hidden is not permitted) and your first name.

This group is for 50 plus men- we do not accept members that are under the age of 50. However, if a group member's spouse or significant other is under the age of 50, that individual is welcome to attend as a guest.

Our group can be a great success but only if we are kind, considerate, courteous and friendly to all the other members!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The group's co-ordinators will remove any member from the group who harasses or displays inappropriate or aggressive behaviour at an event or towards other members.

The Meetup site/app charges each group to use the MeetUp platform. This cost is ~$300.00 USD annually. Membership fees of approximately $20.00 per person per year will be collected about one month prior to the renewal date of July 15 each year.
