Modularizing Unmodularizable
or how I hacked Spring Boot into working with the
Java Platform Module System

Java Platform Module System was delivered in 2017; however, nearly seven years later, its adoption among Java developers remains limited. This talk will demonstrate that in the year of 2024, things are not that scary as they are being painted and even complex applications with a mix of old and modern libraries can be run on the module path.

In this session, we will go over the Java Module system and its benefits, address the challenges of using non-modular libraries in the modular world, and turn a typical Spring Boot Web application into a set of fully and truly modularized jlink images for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
