What we’re about
The purpose of the group is to discuss both the latest and the forgotten ideas in Artificial Intelligence. Rather than focusing only on the hottest transformer models, we will try to balance exploration with exploitation and discuss old ideas that haven't lost their relevance and some things that are only AI-adjacent. The goal is breadth rather than depth without focus on any particular technology or idea.
Anyone who is interested in AI, machine learning, and related topics, and motivated enough to occasionally read a paper or two and experiment on their own is welcome. We will try to keep the pace of the group manageable, but we will not shy away from challenging material.
We will meet every other week to discuss a random interesting idea or paper. We might have some weeks where we meet just to work on our own projects.
Due to the venue restrictions, each meeting will have an upper limit of 10 people, at least for now. We might charge a small attendance fee to pay for the venue/website fees and to cover any snack costs. Transparent accounting will be provided.
