# 🌟 Toronto Movies & Social Group

### Where Friendships Begin.

Looking to make friends in Toronto?
New to the city?
Tired of spending weekends at home?

Toronto Movies & Social Group is a welcoming social group designed for adults who want to meet new people, build real friendships, and enjoy fun events across Toronto.
Many of our members come alone — and that’s completely normal here. Whether you’re new to Toronto, recently single, navigating a life change, or simply ready to expand your social circle, this is a place where you can show up and feel comfortable.

If you’ve ever searched:

• “How do I make friends in Toronto?”
• “Social groups near me”
• “Things to do in Toronto this weekend”
• “Movie club Toronto”
• “Meet new people in Toronto”
You’re in the right place. 💫

## 🎬 More Than Just Movies

We host a wide variety of events, including:

🎬 Movie nights
🚶 Scenic walks
🍽️ Restaurant outings
🎤 Karaoke & trivia
🎉 Themed parties
🛳️ Cruises & seasonal gatherings

This group isn’t just about the event itself. It’s about building real friendships through shared experiences.
Many members arrive solo. Many leave with new connections.

## 🌈 Safe, Inclusive & Welcoming

We welcome adults of all backgrounds.
No cliques. No favourites. No inner circles.
Kindness, respect, and social awareness matter here. This is a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself while also being mindful of others.

# 💛 Our Community Values

This group works because people follow through.
When you RSVP, it means you genuinely plan to attend.

We are not a group for “serial RSVPers” — the people who click “Going” to five events and then decide later which one feels right. We understand life happens. But repeated casual RSVPing and last-minute drop-offs impact hosts, reservations, and other members.
When you say you’re coming, it should mean something.

We value:

✔️ Reliability
✔️ Clear communication
✔️ Respect for others’ time
✔️ Positive, social energy

That’s how trust is built. That’s how friendships form.

# 🚦 RSVP & No-Show Policy

If you change your RSVP within 24 hours of the event start time, you will be marked as a no-show.

If you RSVP and do not attend — and do not change your RSVP or message the Organizer — you will be removed from the group.
Three no-shows will result in removal.

Behind the scenes, we do give gentle reminders when we see a pattern forming. But ultimately, consistency matters.
Clear expectations create a reliable community.

# ⏰ Being On Time

If an event says we leave at 11:00am, we leave at 11:00am.
Please plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early.
We respect the people who show up on time.

# ❓ Asking Questions

We are always happy to answer questions.

However, before messaging the Organizer, please make sure you have:

A) Read the entire event description
B) Clicked the Google Map link to confirm the location
C) Reviewed all event details carefully

Many answers are already provided in the event listing.
We cannot map out your transit route, calculate travel time for you, or troubleshoot directions individually. If a question requires us to Google something on your behalf, we’ll likely ask you to do that step first.

All events are transit-friendly and transit-focused.

If you choose to drive, you are responsible for locating your own parking.

This helps us keep the group running smoothly and fairly for everyone.

# 🚶 Independence & Self-Sufficiency

Toronto Movies & Social Group encourages independence and personal responsibility.

Each member is expected to:

• Be physically capable of attending the specific event they RSVP to
• Manage their own transportation and mobility needs
• Keep up with the pace outlined in the event description

We absolutely support kindness. Members are often generous and helpful.
However, no member should feel obligated to alter their experience, slow the group down, or take on caregiving responsibilities for another adult.

If an event involves significant walking, stairs, or movement, please assess honestly whether it is a good fit for you.

We promote a culture of empowered individuals — people who can participate confidently and independently.

That protects the energy of the group and ensures everyone enjoys the experience.

# 💰 About Event Fees

Some events include a small Meetup fee.
This helps support the growth of the group and allows us to continue creating new social experiences in Toronto.
Community involves shared ownership.

If you are experiencing financial challenges, simply message:

“Can I pay next time?”

No explanation required.

We value contribution when possible — and we value dignity always.

# 🚫 Not a Dating Group

This is a friendship-focused social group.

Private messaging members you have not met, treating events as dating opportunities, or making others uncomfortable will result in removal.
If connections happen naturally through shared experiences, that’s wonderful. But the purpose here is community.

***

If you’re ready to meet new people, try something new, and build friendships in Toronto — we’d love to have you.

Come alone.
Show up.
Follow through.
Let friendships begin. 💛
