### 🗝️ What’s Happening?

I absolutely love Doors Open . In addition to visiting various cities for their Doors Open events, I make a point of volunteering for the Toronto edition every year. Today will be my first time checking out Barrie's Doors Open and I couldn't be more excited to do that with the group .

Join us for a full-day adventure as we ride the GO train from Toronto to Barrie to experience Doors Open Barrie 2025, now proudly partnered with Culture Days! 🚪🎭
With 20 unique sites, this is your chance to:

• Go behind the scenes of historic and artistic buildings
• Discover hidden architectural gems
• Explore creative spaces and cultural landmarks
• Participate in free, hands-on arts and culture activities
• Learn the stories that shape Barrie’s heritage and creative spirit

From heritage homes to galleries and studios, you'll get access to places not usually open to the public – and best of all, it’s all free once you're there!

### 🕘 Schedule

• 8:15 AM – Meet outside the Fairmont Royal York Hotel (look for Nick in a Doors Open t-shirt and the Meetup sign)
• 8:20 AM – Walk together to Union Station
• 8:52 AM – Depart Union Station on the GO Train
• 10:35 AM – Arrive at Allandale Waterfront Station in Barrie
• 10:45 AM to 1:45 PM – Explore Doors Open sites together on foot (Barrie’s downtown is very walkable!)
• 2:05 PM – Depart Barrie on the GO Train
• 3:46 PM – Arrive back at Toronto Union Station

### 🎟️ What You Need

✅ GO Transit Weekend Pass ($10)
Buy it online or on the GO Transit app before the trip – it covers unlimited travel all day!
👟 Comfortable walking shoes
🥤 Water/snacks for the walk
📸 Your curiosity and a camera – lots of photo ops!
🌤️ Weather-appropriate clothing (we go rain or shine!)

### 🚨 Important Notes

• Please only RSVP if you're 100% coming. No-shows may be removed from the group. We want members who honor their commitments and value this shared experience.
• Remember you can just show up if unsure of your schedule that day
• Trip goes rain or shine. Do not sign up if you can't dress for the weather
• The trip involves a fair amount of walking, so come prepared for an active day.
• This event is pay-your-own-way, but most activities in Barrie are free as part of Doors Open & Culture Days.
