This group is for the following 2 things
(a) Online open mics
(b) In-person acoustic guitar jams
Descriptions below:
a) Online open mics
As as aspiring musician I know how challenging & intimidating it can be to balance wanting to perform to improve your musical skill, and actually performing!
I'm slowly exploring open mic opportunities in Toronto and it is scary every time, though it does get better with practice. 😊
I wonder if there are people out there who are in the same boat, and for whom an on-line open mic could be a comfortable first step.
If this is you, join me for an online open mic. We will take turns, get some performance practice in, shake off those nerves, meet like-minded folk, appreciate others music and it will all happen from your home, in a comfortable, safe online space. You can play your guitar, uke, piano, instrumental music, sing acapella, or to a backing track.
Play and/or sing a full song, half a song, just the chorus, or something you've been working on, we welcome your talent and interest and the effort you are making to take these steps in your musical journey.
These events are free and for beginner-intermediate musicians only. Inexperienced, shy, musicians and learners welcome ☺️
b) In-person guitar jams
Acoustic jams (except for our lovely bass player), playing together, popular songs, simple, open chords (you can get fancy if you like), a wonderful community, and a lot of fun. Open to all levels. $10 per person, per event to cover the cost of the rented space.
Advanced players are welcome, though you must be comfortable with our format, style and speed. Ask questions if you'd like more details.
Please note: These events are NOT music classes. You should already be learning/playing an instrument and have one.
