Lawrence Park Guided Nature Walk

Enjoy the wonderful weather on this beautiful nature walk, learn a little about nature/birds in Canada, and appreciate God's creation. We will be walking an unofficial trail nicely intertwined with the Toronto midtown area.

Schedule

1. 9:30 Meet and take photos in the beautiful flower garden. People come from across Toronto to take photos here so if you're into photos don't miss it.
2. 10:00 We head out to the trail at 10a sharp. We will not wait or count people. If you arrive late, feel free to walk briskly along the trail to catch up.
3. We will walk to Sunnybrook park, have a snack, use the washroom, then walk back. We will exit the trail at Sherwood park, head to Yonge st and grab an optional lunch in Persian restaurant City Kebab.

WARNINGS

• There will be hours of walking, at an easy pace, but hours.
• Part of the trail is a dog off leash area. If you are uncomfortable with this, make your decision to attend accordingly.
• This is a weather-dependent event, so check in before you leave home.
• This is an easy hike, but not 100% flat. The trail is sometimes narrow or hilly. Handle yourself with care.
• There is a lot of wildlife and I'll try to point out interesting things along the way. Please respect nature and don't be too loud.

What to get

• Please wear comfortable shoes, ideally waterproof. Parts of the trail might be muddy if it rained in the days before.
• Full water bottle
• A hat and sunglasses
• Bug spray: it's summer in Toronto
• Sun screen
• Snacks and light lunch: there are zero shops along the way
• Mat: if you want to have a sit-down in Sunnybrook, the seating is very limited

How to get there

• Subway: Take line 1 to Lawrence station (not Lawrence West). The park is a 10 min walk from the currently-open station exit.
• There is a parking lot at the beginning of the trail.
