Our program will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. You can join the meeting starting at 10:45 am for our open social.

We will be watching and then discussing YouTube videos about the history of Black rebellions against slavery. Toronto Oasis organizer Tania Akon will provide an introduction to the topic & videos.

We will also be featuring live music! Our guest musician will be Honey Novick.

Honey Novick is a singer/songwriter/voice teacher/poet. Her Member of Provincial Parliament, nominated her for Poet Laureate of the Province of Ontario. She had 8 recordings and 10 chapbooks published. A new collection of her poems and stories called “Voice Yoga, Now” is published by One Thousand Trees, in Guelph, Ontario. The Stop Community Centre awarded her 2024 Outstanding Neighbor. She earned her 5th Gerstein Legacy Fund award in teaching Voice Yoga.
