About us
A positive and supportive group for science fiction and fantasy writers. We meet to share our SFF pieces and to get feedback in a constructive atmosphere, and to support each other in our development as writers.
Core group values:
Positivity. This includes being supportive and encouraging of other's work. We are here to support each other. This means giving constructive criticism, but it also means offering the kind of moral support that will help people grow as writers.
Equality. The group is non-hierarchical. Everyone's voice is equally valued, regardless of experience. The role of the organizer is not an expert. Their purpose is only timekeeper and maintaining structure.
Diversity. Diversity is an asset and an institutional strength within a writing group. We value diversity in age, gender, sexual orientation, education, cultural background, religion, experience, neurotype, and other dimensions of human identity. Everyone is equally welcomed, respected, and valued.

Joshua has published three fantasy trilogies with top SFF imprint DAW Books: The Throne of Amenkor, Well of Sorrows, and The Ley.
Joshua is also the founder of a small press called Zombies Need Brains LLC, which focuses on producing SF&F themed anthologies. Zombies Needs Brains has released over thirty short story anthologies featuring established and emerging authors, including Submerged, Shattering the Glass Slipper, and Skull X Bones. Recently, Zombies Need Brains launched a crowdfunding campaign for their first novel-length release, The Rhythm of a Jaded Heart, which is ongoing right now. IN-PERSON Saturday Meeting!
The Blake House, 449 Jarvis St, Toronto, ON, CAJoin us for our in-person Saturday critique session! We'll be meeting in the basement of The Blake House, which is located near Wellesley and Jarvis, about a 10-minute walk from Wellesley Station or Sherbourne Station.
In respect to the Blake House for hosting us, we humbly request that attendees purchase a meal, dessert, or drink if you are able to do so.
Feel free to bring in a piece of writing up to 2000 words for reading and critique. Please bring paper copies so that listeners can easily follow and make notes. Dedicated listeners are equally welcome. In larger groups, please be mindful of giving everyone a fair chance to speak.
