Combat Scenes Workshop! Hosted by Justin Dill

We'll get together to develop different skills/techniques for writing compelling combat scenes. There will be several short exercises/prompts, followed by optional feedback and discussion based on what we come up with for the prompts.

We'll cover some subset of: different ways to create and increase tension in fight scenes, characterization through combat, "show, don't tell" in fight scenes, "narrative lensing" for battle descriptions, avoiding pitfalls of mechanical or "blow-by-blow" fights, and rhythm and sentence structure for action sequences.
