[Online] One-Shot Anthology - EMPTINESS

Toronto SFF Writers' annual one-shot anthology is back!
The Task: Writers have 24 hours to write a complete story. Completed works will be compiled together in a book, to be released in digital and physical formats. Brainstorming, plotting, and basic outlining are permitted beforehand. No actual writing (e.g. penning sentences that go in the actual story) is allowed until the day of the one-shot challenge.
The Theme: This year's theme is Emptiness, which was a very close runner-up in our poll from the previous year.
Time and Location: Writing begins at 1:00 p.m. sharp on Saturday November 29. Join us on our Discord server: https://discord.gg/3fGAeHP As people begin completing their stories, they will have the opportunity to exchange their works for feedback and editing. Writers will have until Sunday November 30 at 1:00 p.m. to finish, edit, and submit their works for inclusion in the Emptiness anthology.

Story Submission: A Google form will be available for people send in their completed stories. Watch the comments section to this post.
AI: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) to generate stories is strictly prohibited. When submitting stories to the anthology, participants will be required to certify that no AI was used in the creation of their stories.
Rights and Anthology Inclusion: Participating in the writing session does not mean you are obligated to include your story in the Emptiness anthology. Only stories submitted to the Google form by 1pm on Sunday November 30 will be included. Submission via the Google form would indicate you grant permission for your story to be published in the Emptiness anthology in print and digital formats. All other rights, including copyright and reprint rights, remain with the author.
