# The Labour of Hercules ~The Capture of the Red Cattle at Geryon

In this final labor, Hercules must journey to the island of Erytheia to capture the red cattle of the three-bodied monster Geryon. This labor symbolizes the gathering and salvaging of desire-nature and its transformation into aspiration. The three bodies of Geryon represent the integrated personality (physical, emotional, mental), while the red cattle symbolize the lower desires that must be rounded up and driven toward the light.
Hercules accomplishes this task by slaying Geryon, demonstrating that the disciple must overcome the illusion of separation. Through this labor, Pisces learns that all must be saved, nothing can be lost, and that service to the whole requires the redemption of matter itself. It is the completion of the zodiacal journey—the death of the personal self and the birth of the World Savior.
