The theme for this field of activity represents the advancement of humanity through the powers of thought and higher love. It is the Universal Easter with the focus on Sacrifice and Service to others.

♈ Major Themes of Aries

• Pioneer - Aries carries the energy of the cosmic beginning - the first sign, the first breath, the first step into the unknown. Its deepest theme is initiation: the courage to begin before the path is clear, to act before permission is given, to exist boldly and without apology. Aries teaches up that becoming always starts with a single, brave move forward.
• Courage - Rules by Mars, Aries embodies the sacred warrior archetype - not one who seeks destruction, but one who protects, asserts, and refuses to be extinguished. This theme speaks to the fight for truth, for freedom and for others. The Aries soul is learning to wield its fire with honour - turning raw aggression into conscious courage
• The Flame - At its most mystical, Aries is the primordial spark - the divine impulse that precedes all creation. This is the theme of pure, undiluted life force. Before thought, before form, before strategy - there is the flame. Aries reminds us that at the center of every soul is an inextinguishable fire.

The Labour of Hercules ~The Capture of the Man-Eating Mares
Hercules must capture the man-eating mares of King Diomedes of Thrace — wild, unruly horses that devour all who approach them. This labour symbolizes the control and transmutation of the lower mind, whose unmastered energies consume and destroy rather than create and illuminate.

The mares represent the untrained, rampant thoughts that dominate the life of the personality in the early stages of the path. In Aries — the sign of the mind, of beginnings, and of pioneering impulse — the disciple's first task is to seize and master this wild mental force before it causes further damage.

Hercules accomplishes this by driving the mares into the sea, demonstrating that the disciple must confront and contain the destructive power of the lower mind, not by suppression, but by directing it toward the soul. Through this labour, Aries learns that the mind is both the slayer of the real and the instrument of liberation — and that the spiritual journey begins with the taming of thought itself.
